Yesterday's event was one of the most surreal moments I've experienced. Sharing the corner with two legends @renzograciebjj and @mikebrownmma , after a week of working with @sidoutlawmma , was crazy. Getting to see the workings of a high level MMA organization from the inside. Watching the fighters prepare, fight, come back with the victories or defeats. Seeing them getting sown up, or icing their bruises. The team mates Congratulation the winners, and comforting the losers. It was a most powerful experience. How many things have I learned from following these amazing people in MMA for so many years. About dealing with failure, and sometimes more importantly, dealing with success. There is the quiet every day grind behind the scenes. That lonely work where few people see you at your worst. Then there are those short firework peaks when it counts, and maybe that day, is your time to have a bad day at work. How do you deal with that? who breaks, who overcomes. What a great place to study human potential. Thank you @sidoutlawmma for sharing this week with me and letting me coach you. Although you won your fight dominantly, I know you wanted more from your performance. Keep striving for the excellence but cherish everything that comes your way on this crazy rollercoaster your on. Maybe if you had blown through your opponent last night, you would miss those crucial lessons that you'll need on the way to the top. Learn as much as you can from the amazing people around you, and there are no limits to where you can go. It's been a privilege. Friday was a crazy day. The body was incredibly tired from teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and co hosting a two hour Krav Maga seminar with @ronengelman at @fighttlv ,teaching my yoga class and private boxing lessons. But laying on my couch half dead and scrolling through my Instagram, I saw @patrickbeach doing this handstand flow, and I couldn't resist giving it a try. So although my 30 day Handstand challenge is done, here is another great flow from on of the best teachers on the net. Music by my musical sister @reut.yehudai #1percentbettereveryday . . . . #calisthenics #bodyweightworkout #handstand
I put together a nice little funky flow for you folks, but had to try some funky camera manipulations to go with it as well. It's all low budget here, so let me know if it worked. this will really get you to understand the core muscles that need to be activated when you're standing on your hands. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. #1percentbettereveryday . . . . #calisthenics #bodyweightworkout #handstand
So today is the 26th day straight of handstanding. I'm proud of the accomplishment so far, and I hope you've benefitted as well. Today wasn't really a lesson, I wanted to show a short example of a flow that can include handstanding. But my main point of this video is that I'd really like to hear more from you. Questions, accomplishments, any thoughts, please send me or tag me, and I'll try to answer the best I can. #1percentbettereveryday . . . . #calisthenics #bodyweightworkout #handstand
This episode was fun to shoot, although it was just after Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training and we were pressed for time . My MMA student @mosheufnick agreed to assist me for the session. Partner drills in handstands can be a great way to break up monotony, and give a new inspiration to the work. So here is an example of a few ways to do it. But really the possibilities are endless. #1percentbettereveryday . . . . #calisthenics #bodyweightworkout #handstand
Today we start combining the different exercises into workouts. it's important to make it fun and challenging at the same time. let me know if this circuit will work for you, we'll create more as we go along 1percentbettereveryday . . . . #calisthenics #bodyweightworkout #handstand
Today's video was probably the hardest one to make so far. After a great long rest day, driving two hours me coming back late. The only thing I wanted was to lay on the couch and relax. But you people are keeping me honest. So here it is, today's tutorial. There are so many ways this is imperfect, and I want us to get into the topic of perfection towards the end of the month. But I really think you'll already be able to see parts of the process here in my imperfections. Please let me know your thoughts, and also if any of these videos are improving your practice in any way. ☺️☺️☺️☺️ 1percentbettereveryday . . . . #calisthenics #bodyweightworkout #handstand
Filmed at the lowest point in the world. I couldn't resist filming it covered in the good mud. But still, working on more shoulder mobility. The wheel or bridge is a great way to strenghten and stretch the shoulders. Sorry if I'm a bit rushed with my explanation, but had to get it up before Yom Kippur starts. please let me know you're thoughts, comments and questions . #1percentbettereveryday . . . . #calisthenics #bodyweightworkout #handstand. . . . . . .
Day 19 of my Handstand tutorial month. Addendum. I forgot to add a round of sun salutations where it actually ends up in a handstand. The nice thing about the flow of the sun salutations, is that you don't have to commit so hard to each and every one. If this one sucks, the next one will be better 😁 #1percentbettereveryday . . . . #calisthenics #bodyweightworkout #handstand. . . . . . .
Today we are going to approach the of shoulder Mobility. A lot of times, what's holding us back from achieving a good straight handstand , is our shoulder mobility. here are a couple of quick fixes for that. Try it out and let me know how it goes . #1percentbettereveryday . . . #thaikick #balanceyoga #handstand. . . . . . .
