Yet another reason MVP sucks.
.
These pictures taken a few days ago, show the mess MVP left behind atop "Peters Mountain," aka Hellbender Liberation Zone.
.
Back in April 2018, the Hellbender Mountain treesits had beeen holding strong for three months. With callous disregard for the Appalachian Trail and the National Forest, MVP security and the National Forest Service had begun driving ATV's up and down the mountain between the monopod and the treesits. They used their ATV's to drive a bunch of stuff up to the edge of the cliff above the easement and set up a round-the-clock outpost camp to keep surveillance on the treesits and the span of forest they protected from logging.
.
This intact forest, just alongside the AT at Simms Gap, that stands above their tree cutting up the easement is the patch of forest MVP wants to bore underneath through the mountin ridge. This spot is not even on "their easement" and they trashed it.
.
MVP doesn't currently have any permit to work through the National Forest. Though EQT still holds out hope on its devastating plan to drill the MVP through the spine of this mountain, we still have hope that we can stop them.
We need to keep pressure on the whole project to make sure they don't come back and wreck these important wilderness areas and so much more. MVP: Clean up your mess and go away!

**SUPPORT NEEDED**
.
On November 30th 2016 four folks locked-down and blockaded the entrance to a TD Bank branch in downtown Providence. The action was carried out in solidarity with those resisting the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) at Standing Rock. The action shut down the main entrance to the bank for several hours.
.
After two years, the court case for those that locked-down has finally been resolved. But we need to raise $650 to cover their court costs and legal fees.
.
Please DONATE if you can: gofundme.com/nodapl-action
.
TD Bank was a key financier of DAPL and was a primary target for the #NoDAPL Solidarity Campaign. The FANG Collective carried out this action, and several others that targeted TD Bank in the Northeast.

WE ARE DYING, WE ARE BLEEDING
POISONED WATER, HALTED BREATHING
DON’T MAKE US THE LIVING DEAD, KILL THE MVP INSTEAD 🧟‍♂️👻☠️🎃
.
Today, zombies stopped work at a Mountain Valley Pipeline construction site for over an hour. Their spooktacular presence scared away multiple construction and worker vehicles.
.
One of the zombies on site stated: “We are the living dead. Our birthright of capitalism, global warming, and never-ending extraction is a death sentence. This fact must be realized. These forces must be stopped.”
.
Be sure to donate if you can to support these ghoulish pipeline fighters and KILL THE MVP! bit.ly/supportmvpresistance

One person from the pipe yard action last week is still in jail! Donate to support them and future resistance: bit.ly/supportmvpresistance
.
This footage of the Beckley pipe yard was taken 5 months ago, in May 2018. There is FAR less pipe in this yard now, as a huge portion of it has been trucked around the region and laid in the ground.
.
One week ago today, a small group of brave individuals took action at this pipe yard. They succeeded in stopping work for 3 hours. That means no trucks went in or out for 3 hours. That means no pipe was sent on its way to desecrate wild places, endanger human and animal communities, or contaminated water for three whole hours. Three hours, in this context, is a very long time.
.
That day, 6 people were arrested, and 1 is still in jail! DONATE to support these arrestees and future resistance: bit.ly/supportmvpresistance

Water protectors took to the water today — Indigenous Peoples Day — with a message for Governor Northam’s staff and other Virginia state employees at their holiday fishing tournament on Claytor Lake.
.
Though the pipelines we are fighting threaten to devastate Appalachia, we must acknowledge the larger context of our struggle. Institutionalized greed is not new to this land. Its face of violence and devastation has been well known for centuries.
.
When Europeans, new arrivals to the richly populated Americas, witnessed the beauty and abundance of these continents’ natural resources, they chose to seize them through genocide and lies. They erected structures of exploitation, hoarded wealth, and cultivated racist violence that continues to claim victims today.
.
Everywhere in this country people live, play, and work on land seized through theft, trickery, and massacre. Today’s elite cling to this legacy as they build ever expanding borders, prisons, and pipelines, with care for nothing but their own profits.
.
Impending climate chaos reminds us that the capitalist, colonial, and patriarchal structures that continue to govern our country must expire. Ongoing habits of greed and domination come at the cost of our planet and our humanity.
.
As we fight to defend these Appalachian hills and hollers, we urge our supporters to contemplate how and why we got here, and to seek out the ways our local struggle is linked to other fights for liberation around the world.

Day 25 and the tree sits in Elliston, VA are STILL HERE!
.
The past couple days have been tense, with MVP clearing trees near the sits and on the neighboring property. Last night, MVP security stayed on the road adjacent to the sits overnight for the first time.
.
Many trees surrounding the sits have been cleared but Lauren and Nettle are holding strong!
.
If you’re in the area, come out to support these brave pipeline fighters. If you’re not in the area, donate if you can. bit.ly/supportmvpresistance

This image shows loggers hiking past the sits, with the NO PIPELINES NO PRISONS banner hanging in the background.

We’re nearing the end of Day 23 and we’re STILL HERE! As of this evening, the 2 treesits outside of Elliston, VA are holding strong.
.
Below is a brief description of the day’s events — and an invite to join us on site tomorrow! Message us for directions.
.
This morning, Mountain Valley Pipeline personnel showed up at the tree sits near Elliston, VA, threatening to cut trees near the blockades, and threatening that the sitters would be extracted today. Shortly after that, over a dozen cops and a fire truck arrived.
.
Throughout the day, MVP workers walked around the area of the sits (allegedly “surveying”) and the cops stood around on the road … not doing much of anything.
.
THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who showed up today in support of our sitters on short notice!
.
We are expecting MVP and law enforcement to return first thing tomorrow — in anticipation of that, WE INVITE ALL SUPPORTERS TO JOIN US AT THE TREE SITS TOMORROW (FRIDAY) MORNING!
.
If you can’t make it in person, consider donating to support ongoing resistance to the Mountain Valley Pipeline: bit.ly/supportmvpresistance

URGENT CALL TO ACTION! We need people to show up ASAP!
.
MVP just showed up stating they will be cutting trees near the tree sitters and will be bringing the sheriff with them sometime later today to force the tree sitters out of the easement. .
We Won't Back Down! Now is the time to Join us!
.
From 460 in Elliston, VA, turn onto Cove Hollow Rd (603) across from the Dollar General. Veer right into Yellow Finch Lane, a gravel rd. Drive past occupied houses. The tree sits are on the hill on the left and are visible from the road.
