Dashcam video of the drive across the Bavarian Alps during Xmas season
It was barely 3pm but the sky was getting darker. Visibility got lower. It was hard to tell where the road was. Ahead was just all white powdery snow. Flattened tracks from previous vehicle provided some guidance on where the road bends are, but heavy fresh snow were slowly covering the trails.
Should I stop and wait for a snowplough to clear the roads? But what if it doesn't come till the next day? By then the car would be blanketed under perhaps a few feet of snow. Could I survive overnight in the car in such conditions?
Or should I rush faster ahead before the snow gets thicker? It'd be a risky gamble. A simple misjudge of a bend could make the car skid off the road and fall into the ditch. There were no cars ahead or behind. It was a deserted place. No passers-by to call for help.
I pressed forward. "Don't fail on me, Ford Focus". I'm glad it didn't.
At the last part of the video, in the heavy snowstorm, a divider barrier appeared suddenly in the middle of the road. The wheels could have easily went up the barrier and tilt the car over.
