“My brother Ryan is the biggest blessing I could ever ask for. Ryan & I are 15 months apart. Growing up, I would watch his therapists working with him, then I tried to teach him on my own. Ryan isn’t defined by his disability he’s defined by his ability. Everyday he gives me a reason to continue going. He has a smile that lights up a room, his laugh is contagious and he always stays positive. I have the best little brother anyone could ever ask for; he is my angel” ~@kelz_belz12 💙 #LightItUpBlue swipe ➡️ to see the full video

"Liam is a sweet 6-year-old little boy with autism. He’s energetic and his smile is infectious. He works hard at school and his progress every day makes me the proudest mom in the world!! I decided to create this tree for autism awareness as it is so close to my heart." ~Kels E. #LightItUpBlue

"This is Cody dancing with his former teacher, Ms. Kisha. Cody is 18 years old and was diagnosed with nonverbal aggressive autism and ID. Ms. Kisha has been the best thing that has happened to our family. He has since graduated from her class and we miss her very much. When Cody is feeling sad, this video makes the day a little bit easier. We were told Cody would never speak or do anything but we never gave up on him and we're proud of him everyday. Keep up with Cody's journey at 'Cody Speaks' on Facebook." ~@codyspeaks #LightItUpBlue 💙

"16-year-old Pootie is nonverbal and as stimmy as they come. All teachers, doctors and therapists say that he wins the prize as their #1 stimmer! He will stim on anything...and when you remove the stim objects, he’ll stim on you! This level of stimming definitely presents its challenges, but it also makes him one happy special little somebody." ~ @geegexoxo 💙 #LightItUpBlue

“My name is Myles and I was diagnosed with autism. I struggled my whole life with communication and trying to make friends in school. I was bullied my whole life all because I was just different. I’ve always wanted to be an actor. Acting relaxes me it’s what I love to do. It’s awesome to have a script and become another character and bring that character to life. Now I have finally accomplished my goal of becoming and actor. I want the world to know that my autism is just a diagnosis not a limitation and that I can do anything I set my mind to!” ~ @theofficialmyleshopephillips

"The downside to Aspergers is that your child may not realize the teacher is kidding when she tells him to memorize the Periodic Table Song for homework. The plus side to Aspergers is that your child can memorize the Periodic Table Song with no problem." ~@LorriUnumb #LightItUpBlue 💙

"Baylor is 4, he has autism as well as SPD. Baylor likes to make the most of sitting in the cart when we go places. He's a runner and has a hard time making decisions that he doesn’t understand are safe for him or not. We are working so hard with him and he’s come such a long way already! Baylor has such an incredibly unique personality, he can put a smile on anyone’s face and brighten an entire room." ~@weedpartyof5 💙#GivingTuesday #LightItUpBlue

"This may not seem like a big deal to a lot of people, but when you catch your nonverbal 4yr old on film working thru numbers that you didn’t know he knew...it’s a big frickin deal!" ~Kasie 💙 #GivingTuesday

This is the #beautiful moment that Ethan got his assistance dog, Mack. Ethan has #autism and always had a tendency to wander from safety. So his local community raised money for an assistance dog. Now Mack will be by his side to help make sure Ethan does't wander from his family. #dogsofinstagram #love #happy

“All of my friends' cornucopias were filled with play dates, activities, kid parties and on Thanksgiving, turkey, so, without all those things for my son Ryan, my cornucopia felt kind of empty. When your child is autistic, those things do not come in abundance, but, so many other things do, if you are able look past what you think is missing, you will see all that is there. The challenges my son overcame, the fears he fought head on, the progress he made and the #love he gave to me in abundance. In abundance. I spent so much time focusing on what I felt was missing, not what he felt was missing, that I was in fact, the one who was missing out on so much.” ~ Kathy
