Missed us at @idstoronto? Here's a glimpse of our booth, which featured Sand + Draft, an installation by @stacklab_design. Featuring three sculptures made from compacted refractory sand, Sand + Draft is an homage to our industrial heritage -- and the people behind it.
Here are three great lights spotted at IMM Cologne
Typography by @studiotrulytruly for Rakumba: The design duo Studio Truly Truly has taken track lighting to a beautiful new level with Typography, which sees a fully powered, super-thin rail that can be fitted with seven different lighting modules. The fixtures can be arranged in multiple expressions, much like words in a sentence
Hanging Lamps by @mullervanseveren for Valerie Objects: Originally created in 2011, these industrial-style lights have stood the test of time. Reminiscent of crayon line drawings floating in mid-air, the slender tubular lamps add a playful pop of colour to more restrained spaces
Mygdal Plantlight by @nui.studio:
Spotted in the Smart Home section of IMM, these pendants come “planted” with real-life greenery and require no watering. A self-contained eco-system, the plants create their own nutrients and the LED can be programmed to follow the sun’s natural cycle throughout the day
Lucie Koldova’s Das Haus at IMM Cologne features different rooms, each evoking an emotion and way of living. Pure room features Ivy over the tub, with softly pulsating lighting that encourages relaxation. The white inspiration room features her Big One pendants and floating bentwood screens, from a chair she designed with Ton. The red chamber is the changing room – Koldova’s favourite colour is red; it’s feminine, passionate and creative.
