#Hairpainting on a natural level 9 🤩 - Salon Client PSA: At the moment I have online booking turned off for myself @oraclesalon, if you are a new client and would like to book with me please call the salon to schedule a consultation appointment, or book with one of my amazing coworkers. I am always accepting new clients though I also have to ensure my current salon guests are taken care of first, I always recommend booking at least 3 appointments at a time for regulars to make sure you have the dates and times that you need, my schedule behind the chair is changing in 2019 and I will no longer be double booking clients, which means your time is your time - I’ve operated without an assistant and double booked myself for my entire career and I’m over it! I know some of you will say, “I don’t mind being double booked!” It is so much better when you’re not, I can’t wait for you to experience the difference. We are bringing a lot more into 2019 to raise the standard and heighten each client’s experience, I can’t wait to show you all what we are planning!!! #unapologetichairpro#raisingthebar#bringit2019

In spite of what I do for a living, I am an introvert - YUP! And my job - in almost all aspects - is social AF. . I seriously NEED my alone time. Being around people all day can cause sensory overload and is so exhausting. Even just scrolling through Instagram can be so tiring!! Who can relate🖐🏼? . Most days I drive home from the salon or from teaching with no music on. When @brandedtramp and I lived together, there was a solid understanding that we each give each other 20-30 minutes of no interaction outside of, “Hey, baby!” Because when you both talk to people all day long for a living, sometimes the best thing to do when you first get home is sit in silence and decompress, so you can then actually listen to the other person when they do tell you about their day. Rest. Ya. Mind. (Yes we unmoved in together, more on that later 😘) love you baby 💜 . Regardless of that truth, I am so grateful that I get to work with such amazing people behind the chair, in my salon, and in classes/at shows. It has forced me to come out of my shell, and though it was NOT this way in the beginning, I can literally talk to anyone now and connect with them. Doing hair and working with people so directly has given me the confidence to become who I am meant to be. It has connected me to my higher self, and shown me that I can do anything. I seriously struggled with talking to people in the beginning of my career. The biggest thing that helped? ASK QUESTIONS, whether it’s your client, your teacher, or your coworker. It’ll help you open up and find things to relate to, @vvanedwards work is a great place to learn how to engage in constructive conversations with ANYONE. As always I am coming from a place of practice, never perfection. . If you’re an introverted artist, what are some things you do to regain your energy? 🌟💜 . . . . . . The most astounding fact is the knowledge that the atoms that comprise life on Earth, the atoms that make up the human body, are traceable to the crucibles that cooked light elements into heavy elements in their core, under extreme temperatures and pressures. . These stars, the high-mass ones among them, went unstable in their later years. They collapsed and then exploded, scattering their enriched guts across the galaxy. Guts made of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and all the fundamental ingredients of life itself. . These ingredients become part of gas clouds that condense, collapse, form the next generation of solar systems - stars with orbiting planets. And those planets now have the ingredients for life itself. . So that when I look up at the night sky, and I know that yes, we are a part of this universe, we are in this universe, but perhapse more important than both of those facts, is that the universe is in us. . When I reflect on that fact, I look up - many people feel small because they are small and the universe is big - but I feel big, because my atoms came from those stars. There is a level of connectivity. . That's really what you want in life. You want to feel connected, you want to feel relevant, you want to feel like you are a participant in the goings on of activities and events around you. That's precisely what we are, just by being alive." ~ Neil DeGrasse Tyson @neildegrassetyson 🌟
6 Random Facts About Me You Probably Don’t Know: 1. I am a miracle baby. Lol jk. Kinda. My mom had her tubes tied after her first two kiddos with her first husband. When she married my dad, she went through a reversal to have me - it took over a year of trying 🤢 but they finally ended up with me! And they figured that having one was so difficult, lightning probably wouldn’t strike twice, but shortly after, (about 2.5 years) SURPRISE my beautiful little sister @selenarenee3 😈 was born. 2. I was born in Littleton, CO and as much as I’ve traveled, I’ve never had a strong enough desire to move...I love Colorado 🤗 3. I wanted to be a hairdresser when I was in high school, but after getting my first tattoo at age 17, I thought “hey, this is really f*cking cool and I’m artsy, I could do this!” And spent about a year in between high school and beauty school apprenticing body piercing and tattooing. I realized that I liked being in a tattoo shop as a customer more than an artist and I stopped perusing that dream after the shop I was working at closed down. Off to beauty school I went, like I’d originally planned. 4. My first car was a light blue Plymouth voyager (early 90’s minivan - my dad’s previously) and it served me well from age 15-18. It had a bumper sticker on the back that read, “BACK OFF” I was apparently very offended by tailgating, which ironically was something I did a lot during that time...as karma would have it someone from my school took a sharpie and made the B a J, lol. Well played whoever that was, well played. Totally didn’t notice that for who knows how long. Yeah, ran that car into the ground. 5. I love organizing events, facilitating a good time for a group of people brings me so much joy and fulfillment. I’m super detail oriented so planning and executing a vision is super satisfying. Photo shoots too!! Your girl just wants to have fun! 💁🏻♀️ 6. I have won awards and have been given amazing opportunities and experiences w/ hair, however my proudest accomplishment would have to be building the amazing network of people I have met around the world 🌎 🌍 that continues to grow. I am forever grateful for each and every one of you! 💜🔮🤩

As I was looking through my google drive on an existential journey to find some content to post, because... it’s been a while...lol I stumbled upon this photo of my @oraclesalon business partner @hayshedoeshair 🔮and her beautiful daughter (📷by @rebeccaslaughter) from our salon shoot last year. 💜 I am just so grateful for this chick, right here. She is so strong and resilient. She can literally persevere through ANYTHING. She is an amazing role model for her children. She is one of the hardest workers I know. She is sometimes too tough on herself, but who isn’t. She picks you up when you fall, not just me, anyone and everyone. She is so empathic, it’s definitely ESP. She shares Oracle’s vision equally and wholly. She is a true, true, true mother fuckin’ friend and listens to me whine when I need a sound board. She is a TALENTED ASS HAIRDRESSER, and cares about her salon guests and their experience. She is so passionate and unapologetic and so. much. more. I admire her so much. I am so privileged to have her in my life and to be on this journey of business ownership with her. Love you, Hay Hay! Happy Thanksgiving 🍁 . . . (But we’re all grateful everyday right? 😉) “Fear disappears when you’re grateful.”
I had such an absolute BLAST @notanothersalon in Shoreditch, London for the @notanotheracademy Free Hand Balayage Class with educators @hiltonsophia@normanboulton@bruna_viola 💛🖤❤️ it was a day full of laughter and love: theory, hands on, live models and mannequins, and demos. I have so many techniques to teach my coworkers so that we can offer only the best for our salon guests. Can’t wait to get home and show them what I’ve learned! Thank you @notanotheracademy for your non-judgmental enviornment and for truly practicing what you preach. It is so awesome to meet people who actually are 100% their true authentic selves on social media and in real life. Best Balayage Class I’ve ever taken! Thank you! I’ll be back again. (After photos do not do the model’s haircolor justice)
I was inspired by all of the amazing hair masters on the @tributehairmagazine stage in London last weekend, however, this powerful and wonderful woman, @sallybrookshair, really touched me with her words and her beautiful stage work. She spoke of the importance of sharing the stage with the upcoming generation, and embracing the future of the industry. She displayed serious badassery and a no nonsense approach to her work. The beauty industry is compromised of 80% women, and 20% men - but when you look at the top business owners, manufacturers, and industry leaders they are 80% men, and 20% women. This can sometimes feel very disheartening as a young female artist with big dreams, and I have to give Sally a shout out here for being an amazing example of strength and dedication for all of us trying to achieve our goals. If you aren’t familiar with Sally’s work, please give her a google and see for yourself! 🙌🏼 Thank you for empowering women and so much more, Sally! 💜
