We are continuing our meet the team series!! Meet Lance Sayers.... a complete rockstar.
Lance joined BVA in January 2019. He is excited to assist in the commercial development growth that will come in Idaho and throughout the western United States over the coming years. Throughout his life, he has eagerly sought opportunities to better understand both the political and entrepreneurial worlds. For example, one of his most rewarding opportunities came while working on Tommy Ahlquist's gubernatorial campaign from 2017-2018 as the Field Director for Eastern Idaho. Lance served a key role in being a representative of Tommy to community and business leaders and developing a grass roots organization. After the completion of Tommy's campaign, Lance continued to remain involved in politics and assisted in campaigns efforts during a very competitive 2018 General Election. Through this opportunity, he was able to work closely with several leaders at the county and state level in coordinating events and overseeing public relation efforts. Lance is a recent graduate from Brigham Young University-Idaho where he received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and also studied Russian and Mandarin. He was awarded the academic honor of Cum Laude and became a lifelong member of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Honors Society.
Outside of work, Lance cherishes spending time with his wife, Samantha, and family and is dedicated to serving in his community. He enjoys working on puzzles or playing games; but, most of all, he loves running in the outdoors and admiring the beauty and nature that Idaho has to offer. He originally comes from the little town of Altus, Oklahoma but has lived in Idaho for the past four years. Lance is also a huge football fan and is a proud third generation Philadelphia Eagles fan. He cheers for them each fall in honor of his brother, Landon Sayers.

Tonn Petersen joined Ball Ventures Ahlquist as VP of Development in January 2019. Tonn directs the entitlement process for all new projects and serves as BVA’s designated government liaison responsible for interfacing and working with city officials through the annexation, zoning and platting processes. Before joining BVA, Tonn enjoyed a successful career as an attorney working for both a regional and a national law firm. During that time Tonn specialized in complex commercial litigation and represented a number of Fortune 500 Companies in high stakes, multi-million dollar litigation, including Wal Mart, Walgreens, Hilton Hotels and Daimler Chrysler Corporation. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Economics from Utah State University in 2001, and a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2005. The combination of Tonn’s extensive legal and business background uniquely qualifies him to oversee the entitlement of commercial real estate and to drive BVA’s projects efficiently across the finish line, thereby maximizing overall profitability for investors, partners and tenants.
Tonn is fiercely competitive and enjoys participating in an array of outdoor and athletic activities. He lives by a simple mantra – “win each day.” He is also passionate about coaching youth sports and enjoys spending time with his five boys, always looking for opportunities to instill in them the traits that have served as the foundation for his life – a sense of duty, dedication and determination.
In his free time, Tonn serves as an ecclesiastical leader for his church. But above all, Tonn enjoys spending time with his cherished wife and best friend, Jami.
