My Eclipse Story
It was just a ordinary day in Greenville, SC........Jk the only ordinary that day was the Extraordinary! I only slept a few hours the night before because I was so excited All my followers knew I was shooting the eclipse and felt pressure to get it right. I prepared as well as I could for the event but didn’t realize how much work was going to be involved. I got setup an hour before the the eclipse. Once it started I quickly realized tracking it manually wasn’t going to be an easy task. It was hard adjusting my 10+ lb setup for the entire duration in the blazing heat. The weather forecast of clouds possibly obstructing the view in Greenville was also on my mind. When it came time to shoot totality I quickly removed my 18 stop filter and went into full panic mode lol. After taking a few exposures, I turned my bracketing off and shot every exposure possible, adjusting my settings by one stop until I couldn’t go any further. I still had time to enjoy the indescribable feeling during totality. I heard the people watching from Falls Park erupt into a loud roar of excitement immediately followed by a brief period of silence as the earth went dark. I just sat there in awe for a moment but quickly switch gears and got back to shooting. Once I finished I had no idea how everything came out. I was exhausted but had to see the results. I immediately uploaded all my pics and To my surprise I got all the phases, the diamond ring effect(Baileys Beads)on both sides and totality Exposed correctly with out any clouds! I’m so grateful to have witnessed this and pics to remember it by. I’m very proud of this montage and hope to capture the next one! #nikon100#evlipse2017#greenvillesc#visitgreenvillesc#photographer#astrophotography#myview#story#perfectday#totality#amazing#amazingday#awesome#nikonphotographer#nikon#greenvillesc#adayinthelife#reallyrightstuff#myrrs#gvlviews#gvltoday@visitgreenvillesc@email@example.com@greenvilleontherise@upstateexposuresmag@nikonusa@reallyrightstuff
I took this shot of Table Rock at 1am Monday morning. I was planning on getting there earlier to get a foreground shot to blend with the night sky but I couldn’t. I was surprised on how much detail I could recover from the D850s Raw file. (#greatjobnikon ) I wasn’t originally going to post this shot because I know I’m going back to retake it on a clearer night, but thought it came out pretty cool. What do you think? BTW I really appreciate all of your comments and support! You guys push me to always get better and try to get the best shot I can. Im sincerely grateful. Have a great night everyone

My "Mystical Forest" shot. I've been trying to get this kind of shot for awhile. Saturday morning it was really foggy so I headed to the mountains. Around the Cesars Head area I found this spot in the woods and it looked so cool with the fog. I thought it turned out pretty cool! Let me know what you guys think! Have a great day! very little editing, no photoshop. 20mm, 1/6 at f/4, ISO 100 -----sorry had to repost this, I accidentally cropped the shot. Sorry guys #gvlviews#greenvillesc#cesarshead#nikonambassadors#gvltoday#gvlarts
