Another day to run! 5 miles @ 🤷‍♀️ pace. I know this route and my Garmin was all over the place. Maybe it was the cold. Hoping to make it to the gym tomorrow for strength work and then see my chiropractor. I’ve been painting a bedroom all week and my neck and shoulders are on 🔥 . Painting the ceiling is so hard! I had a million droplets all over my face and I’m still getting paint out of my hair. Let’s just say I know now what I’ll look like with fully white hair! 😬👵😁

Legs wanted to go today so I let them loose. 4 miles at 7:50 pace. Splits were 8:46, 7:41, 7:34, 7:20. Felt good! 🌟
Speed work technically doesn’t start for another week or so but I’ve tried to maintain some tempo runs on my own here and there as well as some faster finishes on easier runs. Keeps the legs fresh. I’m also unintentionally rockin the hand on hip stance - shout out to @sarahwkirke and @longleggedmooser 👋🏻. Have a wonderful Wednesday friends! .

Started this run with a scowl. 😡Ended with a smile. 😁 It’s been one of THOSE days. Thought I’d never get this run in. I’ll be happy to put Tuesday to bed. Whining will do nothing but hitting the pavement sure felt good! 4 miles @ 10:30 pace watching this beautiful sunset 👉🏻 but walking carefully over black ice. ❄️ And the calf cooperated 🙌🏻! Now off to foam roll. .

When you stop doing the little things you realize just how significant they are. 😮 You may recall how happy I was getting December miles in wherever I could given the crazy holiday schedule. I’d run then speed off to whatever engagement, errand, party, carpool or practice I had to be at which meant I hardly foam rolled or stretched. Well Friday night that caught up with me. I earned a nice big knot in my left calf - it’s been tight for weeks and that for me usually means heel pain and wow it was terrible! I was limping and the whole leg was starting to seize up. I took the weekend off and have been working the muscle as best I can, foam rolling and stretching any second I get. I also used KT tape which helped too. Ran 3.25 miles @ 9:34 pace today and it’s feeling better. I’ve definitely learned my lesson! 😏 .

Exactly one week ago I got on this stair master and huffed and puffed my way through 10 minutes and 47 floors. I was dying. 😵 💀 Today I did 25 minutes and 123 floors! 🙌🏻Keep showing up. Keep your head up. Keep on keeping on! Don’t forget to celebrate even the smallest of milestones - sometimes those have the biggest impact. 💪🏻👍🏻 .

Followed this with an easy 3 mile run @ 10:00 pace and a Bosu ball workout. 🌟

Double duty today. Couldn’t run yesterday due to extensive dental work and the Novocain made the left side of my face numb. We had a basset hound growing up and when he ran he slobbered happily but I wasn’t about to do that so I gave myself a pass 🤤 Back to work. ***********************************
4 miles on the treadmill @ 9:02 pace, 20 minutes on the stair master (5 more minutes than last time 🙌🏻) then a whole lotta strength work and stretching. Focusing on building up that weak left side. 🐦 .

Soaking wet! 😆 Who cares if we look a little silly out there - dedication will take you places I promise you. 🌟 After 2 days on the treadmill I couldn’t wait to run outside while my oldest attended swim practice. I cringed at the rain but we can’t choose our race day weather right? I had no other option so off I went. ☔️ Let me tell you this progression run was a pleasant surprise! I’m sore from strength work and felt a little like death the last mile. I had to stop a few seconds due to a coughing fit from this lingering head cold. 😬 Splits were 9:01, 8:02 and 6:55! Thankfully I brought dry clothes to change into and had my coffee with me - it never tasted so good! ☕️ .

15 minutes on the stair master - 5 minutes more than yesterday - progress big or small is progress!🌟 Followed by lots of stability ball exercises then 3 miles on the treadmill at 9:02 pace. I can’t stand the treadmill for easy runs I just want to go to sleep. 😴 It was a struggle today but the softer surface helps and my calf didn’t complain so I’ll suck it up. 💪🏻

OMG I haven’t done strength training in a couple months and wow did I get my butt handed to me today haha! 💀 I also added the stair master to the mix inspired by @azrunnergirl325 - I could only do 10 minutes! I swore 10 minutes went by and it had only been 3 😆! I’ll keep getting at it! See stories for added humor on that thing....incorporated lots of agility, core and ankle stabilizer exercises too - my left side is a mess because I neglected this for so long - my ankle and calf need to get stronger - oh well nothing to do but work at it. 💪🏻
