This week’s Arts Innovator is Joshua Vickery, Founder and Executive Director of Central Florida Community Arts (@cfcarts).
In September of 2010, Vickery and Jonathan Cole decided to begin the journey of creating an incredible community arts program. Today, Central Florida Community Arts hosts lots of programs including Theater, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Education Programs, and — of course — the country’s largest Community Choir.
One of the attributes of the “Arts Innovator of the Week” is tireless effort, and Joshua works tireless to build CFCArts. Not only that, he is consistently present throughout the community as a supporter and champion of the arts throughout Orlando and beyond.
Joshua has become a sought after expert on developing community based arts programs and is often invited to speak on the subject nationally.
This week, the 150 member CFCArts Symphony Orchestra will preform Symphonic Cinema: The Sequel at Calvary Orlando for an audience of thousands.
CFCArts has become a place of connection for people of all skill levels and walks of life who love the arts.
Joshua has truly shown Central Florida and the world the power of building community through the arts. For his effort and advocacy, we say “thank you” and recognize him as this week’s Arts Innovator.
"The 'Arts Innovator of the Week' is someone who is working to cultivate a thriving arts community in Central Florida through adventurous creativity, transformative advocacy, tireless effort, or bold generosity."
