This week's entertainment has heavily featured things that spy's get up to in west/east Germany between the Cuban missile crisis and the fall of the Berlin Wall. TV has been #Deutchland83 which was superb and I'm gutted that 86 isn't on until next year. Cinema was #atomicblonde which was fantastic (@curiousmonthofmay tells me Charlize Theron does all of her own stunts, that lady is a machine I was aching just watching it!) And my #currentread is this beautiful #penguinmodernclassics copy of the looking glass war by #johnlecarre which I am thoroughly enjoying. Any suggestions for books/tv/movies in this same vein would be greatly appreciated.
This one is a #freebiefriday.
When it comes to photography I must admit to falling prey to having "all of the gear, none of the idea". Over the years I've acquired numerous (mostly unused) cameras and spent hours casually falling behind the group when out walking, hoping to catch an artful shot of them wandering off into the distance. I'm also drawn to decorative bricks, random animals loitering about, or indeed those National Trust buildings that they don't know they need for the magazine yet (but clearly do). So in aid of tutoring myself to use something other than my phone (always a safe go-to) today I've picked up a camera magazine which boasts that it will show you how to become thay master of your camera craft. It comes with this little volume full of interviews with photographers, helpful tips and some interesting articles, and if nothing else, should make for an interesting morning read. #photography#freebies#bookstagram#bookreview#books#readordie#bookhaul#review#bookaholic#bookish#bookphotography#readersofinstagram#bookworm#instabooks#bibliophile
