The World at Night photography
See one of the year’s best meteor showers on Wednesday night Dec 13-14. Through my career as a night sky photographer for about 20 years I have encountered many dazzling meteors, known as fireball. This one was captured from a camp in Kenya over an Acacia tree with Moon and a parade of planets (Venus, Jupiter, Mars). Known as the Geminid meteor shower it will be visible from most of the world, slightly favored for northern hemisphere. The peak time is expected from midnight to 3 am on the 14th with 1 or 2 meteors per minute. Though the show begin from the 13th evening, after 9pm. It’s best to enjoy it in a dark sky away from city light. Learn more on natgeo.com, search for “Geminids 2017” article and follow me @babaktafresh to explore wonders of the earth & sky photography.
