Survivor of three boys, SAHM, Mother-In-Love, Home Educator, celebrating 27 years of being married and lover of all things quiltey!
Finally finished off the Pillow 2.0 for son and his lovely wife. Our grandpuppy, Molly, had lovingly and thoroughly chewed through the corner of one.
I took the pillows apart and removed the old stuffing. Soaking the front panels in Oxyclean for about a week helped remove the gray stains and evidence of puppy love.
Cutting the old vintage sheet border down to remove the chewed piece and choosing a new vintage sheet to add another border actually made the pillows larger. This new border is from a sheet found on one of last year’s antique shopping trips.
The original pillows had a spiral quilting design, but I chose to do a stipple for the newly added border.
New stuffing and backing make a completed redo of pillows to match the Double Wedding Ring quilt I made them for their wedding.
Here’s hoping Molly and her new brother-pup Buddy stick to chewing their toys instead!
