Up for a challenge? 💪🏽We knew you would be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Start by standing on one leg, with a slight bend in the knee. Slowly hinge forward at the hip, keeping your back straight and avoiding any rotation through the trunk. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (Pro tip🙌🏾: putting something on the floor in front of you that you can tap or pick up with each rep makes for a great cue!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bring yourself back up to the start position at a controlled pace by hinging through the hips again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Getting the proper form for a single leg deadlift is tough stuff! 💁🏽♂️So take your time and start with low reps (6-8) so that you can focus on form. Stick with it, you got this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Don't miss our new library of exercises available by @darrylyardley ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #physiohacks#weekendworkout#homeworkout#hipstability#shoulderworkout#shoulderpress#absworkout#getoutside#embodiaexercise
As practitioners, it can be easy to put our blinders on and focus on the techniques that we have learned. However, keeping an open mind, learning new techniques and practices from a wide range of instructors & mentors helps us improve our practice and better serve our patients. We can also help our patients view their situation from a different perspective. Mike Stewart's work focuses on pain education and the ways in which we can help patients explore different options for why their pain exists.
