Had a full 12 hours out doing Triathlon with this one yesterday! We met @mat_mac for some TT bike action on fiesta island, and grabbed burritos before open water swimming in Mission Bay. Then, fueled by cookies from @trikatie5, we all headed back up the I-5 to snag some coffee before going running from @functionsmart. A quick core session, trading exercises with Matt, and we got back in the van. We only made it halfway home, losing our half-hearted battle with traffic, and grabbed dinner. Finished it all off by covering the remaining few miles up the coast highway. Not a bad day! Only a couple more days until we head north for @escapeseriestri Surf City #socal#vanlife#triathlontraining#escapeseriestri
New Video: “The switch” from ITU to 70.3 and racing 70.3 Oceanside. Full link in my bio.
I haven’t decided to fully leave ITU behind, but I wanted to answer some questions I get a lot on the “why” and the contrast between the two racing styles within our sport. I meant to have this out before the race last weekend, but I wanted to give it the time it deserved and not get distracted the week before the race. Hope you enjoy. #im703#halfironman#im703oceanside#triathlontraining#a18breakaway#lovethepain_official
Not used to exiting the water without 40 other guys all clawing for T1... rolling out just on the heels of the leader was pretty cushy. Also, I got to use a prototype of this suit last year, and my feedback in small part made the final product what it is. Pretty damn awesome. #2018helix#blueseventy#allfortheswim#im703oceanside#triathlon
Swapping out the blue carpet for the red carpet. I know it’s a bit of an anomaly, but I was blown away at the level of hype and energy at this race. Race organizers, sponsors, volunteers, friends I haven’t seen in forever... stoke was high! #im703oceanside This energy is what got me into the sport 17 years ago and what makes me want to go for another 17. #triathlon#community#halfironman
