Prune harvest this week with my little crew. All they want to do is throw prunes and laugh together. It’s been a long work week on the farm but their smiles and giggles keep me going. 💕 If you want to see more farm and harvest behind the scenes follow my alter ego @menagerieflower.
The picking buckets today were filled with great soft yellows 💛, oranges 🧡 and pinks 💗. I can’t help but snap a couple quick picks of the beauty on my processing table @menagerieflower every morning. Not pictured the dead mouse 🐁 I found no more than five minutes later who impaled himself on my chicken wire role. 🤦🏼♀️ The ying and yang of my fabulous farm life. ☯️
Final countdown until prune harvest commences this week. Roses are poppin’ blossoms like candy 🍬 and I’m in a purple haze. 💜 Follow along with this year’s harvest adventures over at my alter ego @menagerieflower. There’s nothing like a sweet fresh California prune. ☮️ Long hours and hot days are the farmer’s life for me. Bring it! 👩🏻🎤
Serious cake goals achieved here. I had so much fun at the Smooth Buttercream Cake Workshop yesterday with @paperheartpatisserie. I can’t wait to try out her techniques, tips and tricks. The best part was last night having a slice of cake with my 4 year old son and he said it was the prettiest cake he’s ever seen. I asked if it was prettier than his Paw Patrol cake and he said, so much better mommy it’s not lumpy. 😂
It was a long week on the farm but the flowers have just been glorious. These are my favorite buckets of the week picked today. I’m super jazzed to be taking them with me tomorrow to a buttercream cake workshop with @paperheartpatisserie. I can’t wait to learn how to make a proper professional cake and see the magic she creates using these bright summer blooms. Cake and flowers is my total dream weekend!
First birthday cake smash and lots of baby smiles. He absolutely loved it and demolished the cake. He even stood over it at the end like a baby Godzilla. Thank you @jillcarmelphoto for capturing all of the fun!
Busy week for this cutie. First day of the school year in his new preschool class. Last year there were tears and this year it was, a kiss and bye mom running as fast as he could to the playground. Growing up so fast I’m reminded the days are long but the years are short.
