I'm Nicholas By, and you love me. You don't know it yet, but you do. Everybody loves me because I'm so darn lovable! Back when I was a stray I was a neighborhood favorite, and then in the shelter everyone came to give me hugs all the time. Now I'm in a foster home, and my foster people love me so much they throw toys for me to fetch and sit there while I make biscuits right on top of them. I'm so happy that everyone loves me, but what I'd love more than anything is a home of my own. Just think how good I'd look lounging on all your furniture and floors! Imagine enjoying all the muffins I'll make for you while you lounge! You should know that I am FeLV+, but I'm a healthy boy and hope we can work together to keep me that way. (Maybe you already have a cat who is FeLV+ and needs a friend? That cat also loves me!) Visit me in my foster home by by calling Joan at 651-705-6264 or submitting an online adoption inquiry form. Let's get this love fest started!
Hi there! Can you spare a moment to chat with me, a very-mature-young-adult-and-totally-not-a-kitten? Ooh, is that a toy you have? I like toys and playing! I especially like playing with my sister. I am Sgt Floyd Pepper, and this is my sister Merple Merggie. We look like twins, but it's actually pretty easy to tell us apart. See, I'm the one that's at the front of the kennel being an adult and doing all the talking, and Merple likes to lounge around in our fluffy bed. We're a whole year old now, so we are SUPER mature and stuff, so now we only play MOST of the time when we are awake instead of of ALL the time. See? Mature. We also like pets and scratches and comfy beds and OH MY GOSH WHAT WAS THAT OUT THE WINDOW I NEED TO CHASE IT! Ahem, sorry. What was I saying? Right. Mature. So if you're interested in two fun-loving but TOTALLY MATURE not-kittens just stop by the Adoption Center and ask to see us!
How independent is your ideal cat? Are you looking for a lap cat, a cat that keeps its distance, or one somewhere in the middle? We have cats up and down the "independence" spectrum - from "Oh my gosh I want to be with you all the time!" to "Oh, you live here too? I guess I can deal with that." Brekken (left) is definitely one of the former and LOVES to be around people as much as possible. Seth (right) is more of the latter, seeking out attention on his terms. Whatever kind of feline friend you're looking for, we've got the cat for you. Visit our web site to see them all!
Prime Day begins at 2 p.m. today! Did you know Amazon donates to Feline Rescue when you shop Prime Day deals at the link below? You get something you need, our cats get a donation, and your cat gets an Amazon box to play in. It’s a win win-win!
It's hot out there! How about some orange sherbet to cool you off? Whoops, we're out of orange sherbet. How about an orange cat instead? OK, so an orange cat can't cool you down like orange sherbet can, but orange cats are WAY cuter and more loving than any frozen dessert. Here's a sampling of the orange cats currently in our shelter, and there are even more in foster care! Visit our web site to check them out or to find your favorite flavor. Wellington is a beautiful soul, gentle in all his interactions and kind to everyone. His big, expressive eyes follow you around the room as he waits for just the right moment to snuggle. (He loves snuggling, but he doesn't want to interrupt, so he will wait his turn.) He's waiting patiently for his person to find him. Are you that person? He would like you to be his person. Stop by the Adoption Center and meet this sweet boy for yourself!
Otis and Abigail are a mother-son duo who love human companionship as much as they love each other. Otis has a favorite toy mouse, and sometimes he’ll play fetch. Abigail will purr and purr when being brushed, carry on a conversation with her humans, and she likes her belly rubbed. They both spend time watching birds and bugs outside the window, stalking and pouncing on each another, and snuggling up for a nap, preferably in the same room as their humans. Abigail prefers a home without other cats or dogs, and Otis prefers ear rubs while he sleeps rather than when he plays. They have a wonderful energy together with complimentary feline qualities of independence, friendliness, and playfulness. Otis & Abigail are eager to meet their human companions and find their forever home. To visit them in their foster home, please call Joan at 651-705-6264 or submit an online adoption inquiry form.
Hello down there! No, you're not hearing things. Look up! Up on top of the tall kennel. My name is Polka, and I like to hang out in high places. It helps me to feel more confident, but it means that most people don't notice me when they visit the Adoption Center. I'm a super-sweet boy, and sometimes I need to be reminded that I like people a lot. Maybe we could work on that at your house? I like other cats as long as they aren't too boisterous, and I'm pretty sure that I will blossom into a snuggler once I get used to having a home of my own. And yes, I'm aware that I have an extremely boop-able nose. Why not stop by the Adoption Center and boop it in person? Just remember to look up to find me!
The adoption center will be closed to the public tomorrow, July 4. The cats join us in wishing everyone a happy Independence Day!
