The School Streets initiative providing a safer, cleaner space for everyone to enjoy outside St. Oliver Plunkett's National School in Malahide yesterday morning.

Mayor of Fingal, Eoghan O'Brien, Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, AnnMarie Farrelly, local councillors, council staff, members of the media, and Dean Rock, Dublin GAA football star attended the drop off time outside St. Oliver Plunkett's to see the impact that the School Street Initiative has already had for everyone at the school.

Cars were replaced with kids playing in the street with friends before lessons.

Parents gave a thumb of approval with how the scheme has worked so far since 18 November.

A positive and cheerful atmosphere surrounded the school with everyone engaging in the scheme.

In 2019 we started the Instruments Project whereby we clean and mend the instruments presented for disposal. We then re-distribute them to organisations such as Centres for Autism, Addiction and Rehabilitation. We receive all sorts of instruments – guitars, ukuleles, drums, violins, keyboards, electric guitars and more. We are delighted to be in a position to offer them to those who benefit so much from this project. We take anything like small practice amps, cables, any sort of instrument, accessories, drum-kits for instruments or necessary equipment. Please hand them in at our recycling centres in Estuary Swords or Coolmine.
