Dave Nehrig - or big wave dave or dawn patrol dave- is another man I’ve gotten to know thru surftrips with my uncle. Dave is a surfing machine, energizer bunny, good human and an absolute charger. He’s taking his family on a once in a lifetime gap year surf adventure through south america until they post up in Panama. If you want to check out there trip go look at their page @gobigorgohomeadventures . Keep ripping dave ⚡️👊
I am thankful to have this man in my life. Nathan Gebhard (@nathangebhard) or for me, Uncle Nate. I’ve know him since my youth and have always admired his creativity, curiosity, ability to work and create with his hands (painting/ building) and his adventurous spirit. He’s invited me on a handful of his adventures and I’ve been blessed to get to tag along. I have memories from those trips that I’ll never forget. This trip was a surgical strike half way down Baja for just 2 nights. In the photo Nate has a piece of trash in his hand he just collected, something he does every single time he surfs. Ever since we were kids, he’s been encouraging me and my siblings to pick up five pieces every time we go to the beach. Thanks for engraving in us how important it is to take of this planet we’re lucky enough to be on.
Was pretty magical to watch @earth_blues (Chase Jacoway) shape me a board the other day. This was my first time seeing a board shaped in person, and I was blown away at how quickly he was able to make this beauty. Always inspiring to watch a friend in their craft... #surferphotos
I love photography. it’s no surprise that surf photography became my niche in photo, considering the ocean is where i feel most at home. this image is special for a few reasons. for starters the surfer is my little sister (@mollykirkpatrick ) who frickin rips now. secondly she’s on her @wavelines egg. If it wasn’t for my surfing family, and the fact my family owns a surf shop, I may have not found my love of the ocean. I recently entered a photo contest for young aspiring surf photographers, and was absolutely blown away at how talented my peers are. It hit me very hard how much work I still need to put into my craft. Surf photography is something I want to spend my life doing, and step one is to claim it. So this is me, claiming it. I am going to be a photographer (surf and other) #surfphotography
Due to my inability to share my work, I have hundreds of photos from Iceland that I’ve never shared. Pretty absurd. I hope you enjoy and can vicariously live through my photos from one of the most incredible trips I’ve ever been on #iceland#exploreiceland
