“I’m officially 80lbs down! Still pushing for 85 by the new year but I’m in no rush. Yes I celebrate the numbers and yes I celebrate having less fat on my body. Not bc I think I look ‘better’ or that being a certain weight is magic but bc one day I made a decision to make some changes for me. The end goal wasn’t to be ‘thin’ or look ‘better.’ The goal was and always has been to be healthy and to love myself. So far I’m killing it. I’ll forever be working on it though. Every single day. Slow and steady wins the race, eh? It’s been almost 3 years since I started this journey with @fitgirlsguide I’ve lost a good bit of weight but I’ve gained so much more. Most importantly was probably to have patience with myself. We all want instant gratification and when it comes to changing non healthy habits into healthy habits that shit is hard. Especially if you struggle with an eating disorder. You learn one bad week isn’t going to erase 2 years of work and that being 80lbs lighter didn’t change your whole life but showing up everyday for yourself is what really changes you. You learn that you have to do this for yourself and by yourself. No ones gonna sit there everyday and make you workout or slap the shitty food out of your hands. I know I say these things every single time I come to a milestone in this journey but that’s bc it hasn’t changed and it’s not going too. I repeat myself every single time to remind not only myself but every single person who reads this. If you’re struggling it’s going to be ok. I struggle every f***ing day. Life is hard. I don’t share much about my personal life but it hasn’t always been amazing. Still not always amazing, lol. But I wake up every morning and I smile bc dammit I woke up and I’m healthy and pretty happy for the most part! And that’s not bc of anyone else but me! So do yourself a favor get up tomorrow morning look at yourself in the mirror smile and do some shit for YOU!!!” - @believing.in.kiki

Read Megan’s amazing story below! She’s one of THE most OG Fit Girls around 🙊👏 “FOUR YEARS!! It’s been four years since I joined the @fitgirlsguide community! December 1, 2014 was the start of my fitgirl journey with the #winterwonderlandchallenge! There have been highs and lows and it’s most definitely been a rollercoaster ride but, I have never ever given up and I have not and will not ever go back to the girl I was December 1, 2014. Some days I feel like I’ve lost myself on this journey. Then I see these pictures. I am quickly reminded how hard I’ve fought and how far I have come. It’s not even all about the body image. Yeah, I struggled immensely with that, but it’s about self worth. I had absolutely ZERO respect for myself back then. I let people walk all over me, I had no boundaries, I participated in very self destructive behaviors, and I almost killed my self. Fast forward 4 years, I KNOW I was #bornworthy. I have boundaries, I don’t let people treat me poorly, I am able to say no, and most importantly... I respect myself. So if this is your first challenge or your 30th, please know that YOU ARE WORTH IT! You don’t have to post every day, you don’t have to participate in every challenge, you don’t have to respond to all of the tags... but NEVER give up. Keep coming back. Keep showing up. Talk to us! This community is FULL of amazing women who know the depression and mental health battle (I’m one of them), women who are mamas, widows, wives, cancer survivors, suicide survivors, women who have lost a parent, sibling, or partner, women who have overcome injuries... you name it.. ONE of us has gone through it. You are NOT alone and do not have to go through this crazy life alone. This community isn’t just about working out and eating healthy, it’s about sisterhood, connection, and love too! I bet you had no idea what you were getting yourself into when you joined our family huh?😜💕 I am incredibly proud to still be here four years later, to still be supporting and loving @fitgirlsguide, and to be able to post this today. It’s first purpose was my baby shower, then school related thing, and now job related things...Yes I know that in the first picture I was pregnant but that was the HIGHEST I’ve ever weighed and I want to remember what that looked like so I NEVER go back to that, because during my pregnancy I only gain 10lbs which means I was 265 🤦🏼‍♀️ Very pregnant me (275lbs) VS postpartum 14 months (241lbs)” - @fitgirl.andrearenee
