@IngoArndtPhotography / The subspecies of brown bears found along the southern Alaskan coast are the largest of all brown bears. Males can weight over 1.000 pounds. They grow this big because of the rich food in their habitat. Sedge grass, lots of clams and of course salmon. The coastal brown bear in this picture catched a salmon one early morning. Only seconds later another bear was chasing him to get his fish. He ran away with the salmon in his mouth, in full speed exactly in my direction - what a perfect and exciting situation!
You can follow me @ingoarndtphotography for more pictures and information about my work.

Photo by @Paulnicklen | This photograph of the ever mysterious, shy, and elusive narwhal was taken while on assignment for @natgeo. Hundreds of narwhals jockey for position to catch a breath of air during a massive feeding frenzy on polar cod. Since I was a kid growing up in the Canadian Arctic, I have always been fascinated by these true unicorns of the sea. It took eight years of going back year after year to the far Canadian Arctic to finally realize this moment. This image, along with 178 others, appears in my new massive fine-art book called "Born To Ice." I can’t wait to share this journey through light, time, and ice with you. #followme on @paulnicklen to learn more about my love affair with the polar regions. #gratitude #narwhal #love #beauty #instagood #fineartwithpurpose

Greetings earthlings. This is 7-year-old kid astronaut and first-grader Harrison Sheldon. 🚀He’s the star of @smallstepsaregiantleaps, a photo project that his dad, editorial photographer and nonprofit media consultant Aaron Sheldon, started when Harrison was 4 years old.
Instagram: Aaron, is there a game attached to the project?
Aaron: When we decide to visit a place for the project, we talk about what we might see there. During our visit, I have Harry compare what we thought we might see with the actual experience. My favorite part of each shoot is hearing his thoughts about the places and what he liked about each place as we look at the pictures together over a post-mission doughnut, cookie or ice-cream cone.
IG: Astronaut Harrison, what’s the best part of being an astronaut?
Harrison: Exploring places, meeting astronauts, bouncing on hotel beds, having cool exploring gear and snacks.
IG: Astronaut Harrison, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Harrison: Superhero.
Aaron: What if your plan to create your own superpowers doesn’t work out? What would you be if you can’t be a superhero?
Harrison: Police officer and construction worker in space.
Check out today’s story to explore along with Harrison and Aaron on some of their adventures.
