I kicked over!! I know there is a slight downhill here but I’m gonna count this as success anyway First time I did it Max messed up the filming but I managed to do it three more times I ran 7 k and then rewarded myself with some kickover practice on the lawn I spent some time opening up my shoulders and that might have done the trick! It’s almost silly how happy this made me
Another first time! It has felt totally impossible pressing with one leg in half lotus, but practice makes progress and today it worked for the first time, at least on one side. My “other good side” was still pretty heavy I gave the ashtanga second series another try today, didn’t manage the whole of it, but I’m thinking I’ll just take it bit by bit until I can do it all. There is no rush, I’d rather feel every asana with integrity and focus than rush through it. At least it felt a whole lot better today so I got my hopes up!
Wobble wobble First time I tried this I made it straight away, but it was obvious a fluke, since it never happened again Until today! And now I say the fantastic Xenia @yogasouthcrete do the exact same thing, but a bit better! Funny how two minds can work alike! Time again for that sunset swim Summer in Sweden this year! #funkypincha#funkyforearmstand#pinchapress
Today my awe for my ashtanga friends grew even bigger. I tried the ashtanga secondary series and oh my, it was a challenge I did not make it, I mean there were so many asanas and transitions I couldn’t do, and I have to say that what’s considered “intermediate “ in the ashtanga world is considered pretty much super advanced to the rest of us But I really liked it and I wasn’t expecting to just ease through it and it feels great to have a lot to work on. Getting both feet behind my neck for example...
Well, I finished it off with some #hollowback work in #pincha because I was so inspired by @_yogajenny_ yesterday! Pushed it a bit too far in the end and almost crashed Now I’m just about to go for a sunset swim
I was going to post something for #forearmfriday today but then for some reason I started practicing lowering down from #handstand to #ekapadakoundinyasana2 and for the first time I did it!! I know it looks like my foot is touching the floor but if I haven’t lost all ability to feel with my foot it didn’t! And I’m so happy! I’m also happy I managed to pike press up at least four times while practicing this! It’s just getting more and more easy! Well, I hashtag this #presstolower instead Have a great weekend! (wow, that’s a lot of exclamation marks )
I ran 10k with Max today, that’s about 3 more than I usually run, and even if it was early it was already really hot! I got so tired and felt like my head was about to explode and even if I tried so hard to keep a happy mindset and pretend I was @tinaemelie it just wasn’t so great
So I did flexibility work again today, and this practice is from a day ago, but I’m just wondering if any of my ashtanga friends @lottasebzdayoga@sirisyoga have counted how many jump throughs and jump back you do in the #ashtangaprimaryseries ? It sure feels like a lot! But I love it more and more each time, maybe because I get better at it (btw the middle is sped up, because it’s a bit boring watching me breathe )
Today I did an inner hip practice with @ashleygalvinyoga at @alo.moves Inner hips is an area where I really need work, it’s a dream to one day getting at least a little bit close to a full straddle split.
Anyhow I finished it off with a little flow and took the opportunity to practice some floating from #handstand to #eightanglepose and then to #epk2 and back and then some #compasspose and #elephanttrunkpose I don’t know why my arms felt like spaghetti, I can only blame it on that I was really hungry at the time, but the result was not my most beautiful float, and #ekapadakoundiniasana2 felt really shaky. Well well, there’s a new day tomorrow
I went for a backbend practice with @email@example.com today and it was really good You might have read between the lines that backbends are my greatest frustration, and even though I have come so far in the last two years I’m still struggling with the feeling that progress is not coming fast enough. I just want to be bendy NOW And I know that this feeling is also part of the practice, to be patient, not to push myself too far and to find peace in every little step forward. But that is as hard as the physical practice I think
I finished off with this little play for #toetaptuesday and at the same time checking in with my #handstandscorpion
Joining in on #nopressurepressmonday with some #pikepress practice
I’m always inspired by my two insta mentors; @beahappyamy and @lottasebzdayoga while doing my handstand work
If you look closely you might see how I’m working on my line, pulling shoulder blades together, tilting the pubic bone and drawing the upper ribs in. Or it all just happens in my mind
Just some #handstanddrills today We left for the summer house in the afternoon and tomorrow I’m looking forward to trying out the ashtanga second series, which I just noticed I had with Kino at Omstars! Wohoo! I have done the primary series at least once a week since the first time I tried ashtanga, and I love it so much! So I’m really curious to try the second series
I saw this little beautiful flow over at @ashleygalvinyoga and I thought I’d try it today. I was mostly doing flexibility work today, I needed some restorative practice after a few days of hard work. But it’s so nice to get some flowing as well
I filmed my entire one hour practice today, as well as some fun drills and play Just to realize I didn’t manage to press record properly... and then I was too tired to really do much more, I did a lot of kick over practice and they really exhaust me Well, so here’s what I had energy for. It was a long time since I practiced my #peacockpose in #lotus and #chinstand and it felt good revisiting them again. It also felt good that my core felt so much stronger and more stabile than last time I did this Have am amazing weekend everyone!
