I am so damn proud to announce that a film I shot last year will be making its world premier at the Toronto International Film Festival aka TIFF. American Woman was directed by the incredible Jake Scott and written by the fearless and tragic writer (Out of the Furnace) Brad Ingelsby. This film takes you on a journey that follows a complicated woman dealing with the disappearance of her young daughter and coming to terms with the possibility of never seeing her again. It’s about family, love and loss and it’s absolutely beautiful. Sienna Miller brings such a heartbreaking and honest performance to this character and to watch it play out in person was an absolute gift. Independent film making is where my heart is. Just raw and honest story telling. Thank you Jake for taking me on this ride with you! You absolutely crushed it. Thank you Brad for this story! I will read every single damn thing that you write. Thank you TIFF for this honor. I love you and all of Canada. See you soon! #TIFF

Colleen, we’re not here to sit in
Jesse looks up, eyes blazing. He fixes Jere with a challenging glare.
Maybe she’s right. Maybe I shoulda
put it in the paper. Maybe I shoulda done something different... The thing is... if you just do stuff and nothing happens -- what’s it all mean? What’s the point?
(a bitter realization) Oh, right, this whole thing is about “self-acceptance." JERE:
Kicking the hell out of yourself
isn’t going to give meaning to anything.
So I gotta stop “judging” and
That’s a start.
JESSE: (fury building)
No matter what I do, hooray for me, I’m a great guy! It’s alllll goooood. No matter how many dogs I kill, I “do an inventory” and “accept." You back your truck over your own kid and you, like, “accept”?! What a load of crap!
Jesse, I can see you’re in pain,
(The professional empathy gets under Jesse’s skin.) JESSE:
You know what? Why I’m here in the
first place? To sell you meth. All of you, you’re nothing to me but customers!
I made you my bitch. You okay with that? You “accept”? Jere is truly pissed now. Maybe that’s all Jesse wanted from him in the first place.
Jesse looks around the room, searching for someone to challenge him. But there’s nothing but hostile silence.
“I know a guy who knows a guy. Who knows a guy”.
“I will kill your wife. Your son. I will kill your infant daughter”.
“I watched Jane die. I was there and I watched her die. I watched her overdose and choke to death. I could have saved her. But I didn’t”.
“What? You want me to beg? You’re the smartest guy I have ever met but you’re too stupid to see that he made up his mind ten minutes ago”.
“If you tell me one more time that you did this for your family”.
