🏆 Was able to try some of the best Italian in England on my trip just a few weeks ago. And I’m not being bias - they’ve won several awards for having the “Best Italian in England,” two years running. 🏆 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• It’s no secret I love presentation in addition to a flavorful meal, and Sapori did not disappoint. Each dish came on its own style of plate, that the chef thinks pairs well with that particular menu item. ⠀⠀ ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• We had lots of red wine 🍷 and tried a large portion of the menu. Here were the highlights for me...👇••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 🍽 1: 7 Hour Sous Vide octopus 🐙, grilled with broccoli, garlic + chili sauce, confit cherry tomatoes, and pickled red onions 🍽 2: Linguini nerano with prawns, monkfish and courgette (zucchini) 🍽 3: Rum baba (French yeast cake) with coconut cremeux, passion fruit foam, fresh mango with lime and raspberries 😋 📍: @saporirestaurantuk 📌: Anstey, Leicester, UK 👇: Leave a comment below!!
Been seeing my favorite food bloggers cooking halloumi cheese for MONTHS, and I wanted to try it so desperately, but could never find it! Finally tried some in London, and then figured out that @thefreshmarket sold it here in #Nashville (it’s way cheaper in London though 🤨). It’s a solid, but not hard cheese that you slice, and grill. If you like salty foods, you’ll love it bc it’s salty af! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #whatsonmyplate: Pan Seared Salmon cooked with herbs and fresh lemon juice, topped with capers •• grilled halloumi •• homemade guac + tomatoes over arugula (rocket) 😋 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Well, I’m about to take my ass on a run since I haven’t gone in a week 😐 too-da-loo!
I feel like everyone is curled up watching football today 🏈 so I embraced the football food and decided to make #nachos (plus, I was craving beef tacos)! A few months back I made nachos using sweet potato slices in place of chips, and did that again today (on the blog if you’re interested). I cooked the beef in my own fajita seasoning which I’ve typed below 👇👇👇👇 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• good af taco seasoning 🌮 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✖️ 1.5 tbsp cumin ✖️ 1 tbsp chili powder ✖️ 1/2 tsp paprika ✖️ 1/4 tsp garlic powder ✖️ 1/4 tsp onion powder ✖️ 1/4 tsp dried oregano ✖️ 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes ✖️ 1-2 tsp salt ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #whatsonmyplate: baked sweet potato slices, ground beef, homemade guacamole, diced tomatoes, red cabbage, pickled jalapeños, white onions, cilantro, green onions , Tapatio, and @wallabyyogurt! 😋
I don’t eat pasta that often, but I love me some gnocchi. Finally was able to score some of @traderjoes Cauliflower Gnocchi (they’re usually sold out) and it is THEBOMB.COM! 🙌🏽 Has anyone tried it yet? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #whatsonmyplate: cauliflower gnocchi •• homemade pesto (link to recipe in bio!) •• sun-dried tomatoes •• English peas •• raw baby tomatoes 🍅 •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• I’ve created a delicious pesto recipe and it is now live on the blog! I even share tips on how to freeze it. #LinkInBio ☺️

One of my favorite meals in England came from the kitchen of Chef @burchpants. 😋 Get you a man that cooks 😍 This dish was seriously good af. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ whatsonmyplate: Salmon cooked with fresh squeezed lemon juice and rosemary, roasted beet root + asparagus, sautéed spinach & onions in lemon juice, all topped with feta. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Stay tuned for “My British Food Tour Diary” post coming soon! 🇬🇧 We ate gooooooood, y’all.
Juicing - some people love it, some people hate it. 🍋 There’s a lot of misconceptions about juicing and it’s become a trendy way to “lose weight” over the past few years... 🍎 There are many positives to drinking fresh, pressed juice, but it KILLS me when people spend hundreds of dollars on juice detox programs (you have a liver for detoxing). 🥦 So, what’s true and what’s not? 🍉 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• PROS + BENEFITS: ❤️ An easy way to consume the daily amount of vegetables and fruits you need. (If your kids are going through a picky eating phase, make them a juice!) 👯♀️ ❤️ Especially helpful for those are not able to get nutrients and vitamins from eating solid foods (think digestive issues or problems with swallowing/chewing) - when my dad was first diagnosed with lung cancer, we made juices for him so he was still getting valuable nutrients absorbed into his body. ❤️ A creative way to prevent waste. That cucumber or carrot looking a little ragged? Throw it in the juicer. No sense in wasting good mood food! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: 💥 You are not going to magically drop weight from drinking only juice for an extended period of time. Incorporate juices into your meals instead so that you are still full from eating. You can not sustain a full belly with juice alone, which in turn will cause you to overeat or possibly even binge! 😧 💥 Drinking too many fruit based juices can cause blood sugar swings, which will lead to spiraling energy levels. 😴 Add some greens into those recipes (personally I love kale + spinach 😋)! 💥 Many people tell me they feel better when they juice... of course you do! You’re consuming whole foods in a liquid form. Just remember.... companies trying to tell you you’re “detoxing” are full of sh¡t and are pulling you in with marketing... your liver and kidneys are your detox buddies. If you want to properly detox, eliminate alcohol 🍻, and processed foods 🍝 from your diet! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Thanks for reading! Got any questions? Drop em below 👇and TGIF 😍❗️
Peaches are at their prime in the summer, so I take full advantage of these, fuzzy, juicy fruits before fall hits. 🍑 Peaches support healthy eyes, treat gut disorders, prevents dangerous heart conditions, and has even been proven to help fight cancer. Who knew this Southern staple did so much?? (Peaches also originate from China) #themoreyouknow ⠀⠀⠀⠀ •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #whatsonmyplate: Pan seared peach slices in coconut oil, 5 minutes per side on medium heat; drizzled in flower honey; topped with crushed pecans. You could also add cinnamon! 😋
