Negative Film | Photograph by Doria Fochi
“I am holding a black and white 35mm negative of myself with my mother, using natural light as a viewer. Luckily for me and my family, I found the rest [of the film] as well as many more rolls of memories,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Doria Fochi. “Photography is a scientific wonder for me, and seeing these precious childhood memories adds just another deep dimension to my precious mother’s gift of life. She has given me so much, and photography has brought back so many memories… and continues to do so.”

“This image sheds light on the chemical processes that were part of our life before the digitalization of photography. It was chemistry that gave this world photography, and I am glad that this simpe composition recognizes that.” — @natgeo Explorer Prasenjeet Yadav (@prasen88)

The lake supports a massive freshwater ecosystem, which in turn supports the people who live around it in floating villages. Many of the Cambodian villagers are stateless Vietnamese immigrants. The families build floating dwellings on top of waters where citizenship papers are not required. Despite being built on the water, the floating villages operate similarly to villages on land. There are grocery stores, schools, barbers, temples. Follow @andrea_frazzetta to know more about my next projects #cambodia #floatingvillage #asia

A ring-tailed lemur does an impression of one of my old college professors. .
Lemurs, unique to Madagascar, are a quintessential element of an experience on the island. We encountered several species of them in more than a half dozen community and national parks we’ve visited. This one calls Anja Community Reserve home. Here, preservation efforts have grown the lemur population from 20 to over 400 in the last two decades.

En las cabañas residen artesanos locales que fabrican recuerdos de madera para vender a los turistas que visitan este popular destino.
