Lots of places for Simba to explore now...even braving the sink!
All moved in! Keeping it real with messy hair, gym clothes, and red wine. Only took us five days, which is a record!
I’ve been busy basically the last month or so with the process of packing....and crocheting 🤩 Here are a few projects:
1) Hand-Painted Shoulder Bag, revised as a clutch due to being 60 yards short Yarn is “Dusty Rose” from Wolf Ridge Lamb & Wool in Backcountry Bulky.
2) Colorado Squared Pillow from @woodenspoolsdenver for @yarnalongtherockies 2016 The pattern was available as both knit and crochet, so I chose the crochet option. Was able to use up most of the yarn from the kit itself. Don’t think I’ll work with Ella Rae yarn again, though: it was quite splitty
3) Am currently working on Fortune’s Shawlette with @auroratalksknit Bliss Box January 2018 yarn by @colorfuleclectic. I LOVE THIS COLORWAY SO MUCH. And this pattern is so pretty!
I also have worked on some family gifts, but I shall not reveal them here since I have some family members who see my IG feed
Am not sure what this mini skein of Vegan Cake will become, but I’d been eyeing it on @independencestreetyarn’s website since its release. Yes, I’m moving (and destashing), but a mini skein won’t hurt, correct?
First day of our Moving Sale Open House was a success, even despite the weather! We still have quite a few wares for you all to peruse tomorrow 12-5pm (look at these photos) DM me for details/address if you want to stop by Sunday, April 22nd.
Mmmm yum. The Poutinerie Pop-Up by @aircanada wraps up today in LoDo, so I had to stop by with @_rkane so we could sample a few of the fun dishes. We tried three: Vancouver's Winged & Breaded Fries; Shanghai's So Sweet, So Sour Fries; and Hong Kong's Double Duck Tots. Are we blasphemous if we say that we loved the tots the most? 🤩 Anyhow, fun times in the Foodie world of Helene and Ryan. Fingers crossed we can win some plane tickets! #TheCanadianWay#Contest
One of Kitty’s favorite poses, but also an accurate way to describe my mood this whole week. Post-vacation blues are real, especially when I leave my family. Have also been feeling off overall—maybe due to Mercury Retrograde? Sigh. Not sure. Anyhow, I wish I could roll up in a ball like Kitty and shut out the world.
Whew! Just a few more minutes to spare before midnight, and I’ve completed the Fort Astoria Scarf! Won yarn chicken again (hehe), and...well, fun knit! Thanks Jonena @riverandfir for a fun March KAL!
Souvenir yarn is the best I had to get this @baahyarn while in PB San Diego over the weekend—such a beautiful representation of the ocean and the feelings from the retreat. Going to knit a shaw called “Serenity” because....why not?
What a beautiful time away with the @sociality2 team—aka work family. It was my first time in San Diego itself (attended a conference in the northern San Diego area five years ago), so it was special to get to both sightsee and also get to know everyone else on the team. Lots of delicious food consumed, and craft beer as well! Til we meet again...
The Mock Cables are “sliding” off! I love how this pattern keeps me on my toes (Yup, I do switch between knit and crochet projects if you were wondering about my post from yesterday! )
Finished the beautiful Aish Cowl by @rachynewindesigns yesterday. I love how crocheting in general flies for me: definitely helps that I’ve been crocheting for over five years now (thanks to my wonderful teacher @bitteroclock!). Also, *finally* was able to use my first @yarnbaby skein for this project The colors pool up so nicely! Thanks to @emilycperrigo for being my model Happy National Crochet Month to my fellow crocheters!
