I’m so sad she lived in captivity , but i am so thankful for all that she tried to teach to us. Thank you #Koko
On #worldgiraffeday I want to take a moment to think of the gentle , often taken for granted , towering presence that giraffe’s bring . This Kiko, a while back , at @dswt . I also want to think of all of the human beings who are fighting so hard to save and preserve the precious wild animals that are left. It is more difficult than it appears on social media . Lots of heartbreaks along the way. But these people are heroes. Trying to keep the beauty that is part of our world alive for our children. Thank you to everyone who supports as well!
On #worldrefugeeday there has never been a more important time to stand #withrefugees . This is Bertie , he had to flee war in Congo and he is now resettled in the US and Principal of a school. Let’s all be part of the solution and celebrate and embrace people who have exhibited incredible strength + resilience to flee violence and start their lives over again. Becoming an inspiration and contributing to their new countries. I am proud to work with @refugees#refugeeswelcome everyday!
Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads out there making an effort

Just this Tuesday, the Elephant Orphanage Project (EOP) coordinated its most rapid rescue to date with a 12-hour turn around from orphan alert to securing the calf in the Nursery stables thanks to @royalaircharters!
The Department of National Parks and Wildlife responded to an orphaned elephant alert by the Livingstone Fish Farm and quickly captured the six-month-old calf. The frightened little calf was taken to the nearby ‘Elephant Café’ for stabilization. Being in a secure boma with browse, water and the company of other elephants really helped to minimize her stress whilst our EOP team were busy securing a plane and other logistics for her transportation to the Elephant Nursery in Lusaka.
We raced against the clock to ensure the calf could be moved to the Nursery within the same day. A 2-hour flight to Lusaka and an hour long road trip to the Elephant Nursery, and she was finally tucked up into a stable with a warm blanket.
This little calf is currently known as 43 (being the 43rd elephant assisted by the EOP in the last 10 years). Although initial signs are good, she will not be named until we are more confident in her survival, as she is still incredibly vulnerable and no doubt traumatized by losing her mother.
Going somewhere special tonight and want to have a little Sarah with me..... thank you @sjpcollection for making such gorgeous shoes! How will i choose???? #goodproblems

Daphne Sheldrick lives on in the hearts of all those who knew her and were touched by her work. Today, her birthday, we would like to celebrate our founder and the remarkable life she led. Here are a few words from Daphne’s daughter, DSWT CEO Angela Sheldrick:
“Daphne would have turned 84 on 4th June 2018 and naturally, today more than any other day, she consumes our thoughts for she is so sorely missed. Immersing ourselves in her life’s work and the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind, through a lifetime dedicated to nurturing and protecting Kenya’s wildlife and so many orphaned animals, keeps her close to our hearts and I know she walks beside us with her memory ever present in all that we do.
As the time has passed since Daphne lost her battle with cancer, passing on the evening of April 12th 2018, the outpouring of love from around the world has been quite extraordinary and it would certainly have surprised Daphne herself to know just what she meant to so many people. Thank you all for sharing with us your emotional support at this most difficult time. We have drawn so much comfort and strength from feeling the love and know that Daphne will forever live in all our hearts as one of this world's true 'Gems'.
Today we celebrate Daphne and just how fortunate we are to have had her in our lives.”
