For a while, my confidence was based on how productive I was or how much I achieved. At one point, I replaced basing my worth on my weight to basing my worth on my work and how much I could achieve.
Our society embraces reward, productivity, and achievement.
Our society does not embrace the in between, the mundane, the gray area, the small triumphs of doing the dishes or calling Mom.
