Thought about running but it just seems unattainable? Like something you could never do? . It really really isn’t. You can. . A couch 2 5k group can start you off in small bite sized chunks of running, gradually building up until you’ll be able to run for 5km. . It’s an amazing programme and it has changed many lives. Many of the runners you see started off exactly this way, many after years with a lack of exercise. . Penllergare Valley Woods Runners, based near Swansea, start their next course on 6th January. . They meet in a truly beautiful area (see pics!) and they are a fantastic friendly group. . Head over to their Facebook or Twitter for more info. . Give it a go 👍 . If you’re not in the Swansea area I’m sure we can recommend a more local course for you. . Please share to any of your non running friends 😀 . . . . #couch25k#healthy#newyearresolution#newyear#running#happy#pennlergarevalleywoods#swansearunners#instarunnerswales#swanseaparkrun
Meet our #instarunnerswales member @neilhookmac 🏴 He lives in Aberbargoed and works as a Safety, Health & Environmental Manager. His job has specialised in food manufacturing for over 25 years. 🏴 Neil has a 24 year old daughter who still lives at home. He hasn’t managed to persuade her to run with him yet, but she’s still active in the gym. 🏴 Neil’s home is very animal orientated; with 2 cats (both are house cats) and 2 dogs. His GSD is 9, so walking is his limit, but his husky/malamute cross often joins him as his run buddy. 🏴 Neil runs on alternate days, approximately 20km a week. You’re likely to see him at his home Parkrun of Pontypridd. He’s recently returned to running after a nerve injury in his foot, so he’s trying to set himself parameters to avoid aggravating the injury. He’d like to run a 10k race soon. 🏴 Neil has set up a basic gym at home so that he can incorporate various types of exercise, especially on the days he’s not running. He also tries to get out for a cycle ride once a week. 🏴 We hope you enjoyed getting to know @neilhookmac We wish him well with his future running and hope the foot injury fully recovers soon.
Start as you mean to go on.😃 Make 2019 your year for running!
