Tyler & Brooke from Michigan are visiting Costa Rica to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary & fantastic to have them join us aboard GOOD DAY yesterday fishing in Costa Rica.
After many years of trying, Brooke finally got her first Sailfish under her belt which she caught on a live bonito at Furuno Bank. We raised 2 other Sails whilst trolling but missed out on the hookups. The day ended on a high as we encountered a nice current line on the way home and caught a ton of small Dorados.
Day 2 for Tyler & Brooke tomorrow!
We were back at it today after a nice few days off & it was great to have Chris, David, John & Bart from Minnesota aboard GOOD DAY Fishing in Costa Rica.
The day started excellent when we found a 40 foot tree floating 10 miles Offshore and the guys had some fun catching 7 small Dorado on the Spinning Rods & pulling the hook on a bigger fish.
28 miles Offshore we added a Sailfish to the tally before we got the radio call that there were Tuna a bit further Offshore. There was surface action all around us with Blue Runner & Caballa baitfish getting smashed by the Tuna school. We caught 4 Tuna pretty quickly & then resumed the Billfish hunt to look for a Marlin to try and put the silver lining on an already incredible day. Our Marlin was not to be but the guys had a blast ending up with:
Great to have Tobey, Gary & Tori from Massachusetts aboard, the guys caught a couple of nice Roosterfish which we tagged for Gray FishTag Research, aswell as a Mackerel, Big eyed Jack & a couple of Needlefish.
Some nice Roosters out there this week and Offshore there have been Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna & Dorado!
