The kindness and hospitality of the rural Romanian people know no bounds. The strength and toughness is also a defining characteristic, especially in the older people. When we met Maria, she was 90 years and lived at the top of a grueling climb, she told us how she'd recently fell and broken her ribs. Despite the clear pain she was in, she took the time to share a little of her life with us. #lumix #lumixambassador #romania #ruralromania #travelphoto #travelphotography #maramures #lensculture #documentaryphotography #travelphotographersociety #tps #intrepidexposures

The beauty of travel in Romania during autumn is the stunning fall colours and early morning mist #lumix #lumixambassador #romania #romania #ruralromania

Whilst putting together my upcoming talks for the @wexphotovideo workshops I'm running, I realised that I've been shockingly bad at sharing my work over the last year. Over the next thirty days I want to share an image a day from the @intrepidexposures Rural Romania tour from last October. If you fancy joining us in 2019, DM me for more details! #lumix #lumixambassador #romania #romania #ruralromania

Probably the most impressive (and scary) suspension bridge of the EBC trek. This one is the 200m high upper bridge of the Edmund Hillary Bridges, between Monjo and Namche

Incredible views at 4600m as we summited the head of the Tsola river valley on the way to EBC

During the trek to Everest base camp we were gifted with some terrible weather for the first 3-4 days, turning the mule trails into a death trap of mud and animal excrement. However it wasn’t all bad as the cloud cover and storms tended to clear away giving some of the most dramatic light of the trip.

I’ve been quiet for a few months as I’ve been hard at work on lots of exciting projects which I hope to share soon (see @studioatypical for a small insight). During this time I have been shooting and back in April I spent my birthday ticking off another item from the bucket list by trekking from Phaplu to Everest Base Camp. It was a hard challenge as we did it completely independently, carrying 15kg of kit over 14 days of hard and hilly terrain. Hoping to share some of the visuals from this trip over the coming weeks. Also experimenting with some new ways of sharing my work, this was inspired by the cool insta posts of @afterschoolclub_asc. Images shot on @lumixuk G9, and powered by @goalzaro. Let me know what you think of the new format!
