Great crew racing the Cherry Garcia 5k this morning! This was a wonderful way to start the summer and marathon build up towards @hmf_events. I won in 16:17, Corey was 3rd in 16:24 and Sal was 4th in 16:34. I’m sure Morgan had a blast in her first altitude 5k, as she won with ease in 20min and change... Chef Marc crushed his pr in the 10k with a 49:37 and not pictured was @mizcarrera who won the 10k and then crushed Corey and I in a workout afterwards... I’m grateful we got Ben & Jerry’s Ice afterwards too!
It’s finally safe to say that I have been fortunate enough to be reselected as a @runinrabbit Elite athlete. This is my second year onboard with this amazing California based brand! I know I fell short on a few of my goals this year; such as improving on my 2:25 marathon time in an attempt to get closer towards 2:19. But with those short comings, I still feel that my journey towards an Olympic Trials Standard is still within reach.
The progression from when the window opened in 2017 was:
CIM - 2:25:50 Philadelphia - 2:29:10 Boston - 2:31:57
Post Boston Marathon finish! I don’t have any action shots yet, but I can assure you he agony of the Marathon was very true after mile 18... I’m not disappointed with my 2:31:57 finish, but I would be lying if I didn’t want a faster time. I went out a little quick in 1:12:20ish and died hard. I know I have a low 2:20 in me, so I’m gonna learn from this and keep grinding. I also had a wonderful experience spending time with this amazing group of friends and support crew. Thank you @dukestrackclub and my amazing rock of a wife @leenbug. A big congrats to all the Duke’s as Brett lead the team with a big personal best! All the support was amazing which is just one reason why I love this sport - Thank You! @bostonmarathon@allkindsoffastphoenixville@runinrabbit#dukestrackclub#runinrabbit#nike#vaporfly#marathoner#runningteacher#unicorn#runningtribe
