I went flying through the air today. Literally. It was their first day back to school. 🎉 I was in Spitalfield’s Market shooting during the day and pushed it close to pick up time. I was running for the train; I had my iPhone in one hand and my big camera in the other. I fell and put both hands in front of me to stop my fall! I Shattered my phone. I can't stomach checking my camera yet (85mm 1.2). 📷 Not a single person stopped to help or see if I was ok. So I jumped up and ran again to catch the train. 🚉 I caught the train. As soon as we got into the tunnel the train stopped and stayed for 20mins. I was very late for pick up with teachers I haven't even met yet! We had to walk home. I had a leather jacket on. It started to sprinkle.
Notting Hill Carnival is Europe’s biggest street festival, with around one million people celebrating in the streets for its 59th year running. It was a bit intense having the kids with us, but they seemed to enjoy it. A huge shout out to all the police who were there in force, several came right over when Elijah found a knife in the road….. They also reminded us to take a photo of the kids in what they were wearing and to write our phone numbers on their arms in the event they got lost (at least 500,000 crammed into a 3.5 mile radius at any one given time). I honestly hadn’t thought of those things because we live here. 🌏
