Summing up some great days in 🇰🇪 with @kenyacof. Visiting some estate partners, coffee auction and the dry mill. Looks like the production will be low and many producers give up coffee farming and sell their land in times of record low market price and increasing production costs. We hope our work roasting and selling the coffee in Norway can be a small contributed towards a more sustainable coffee trade. Asante!
The KAFFA-crew is a team of knowledgeable, merited and professional people with high ambitions for themselves and the company and we have a strong identity and good history after our 14 years as a specialty coffee roaster.
In 2016, Erik came in as CEO for KAFFA and he has done a terrific job of taking us where we are today, with a solid position in today's coffee market. Now’s the time for him to find new challenges and we are therefore looking for a new leader who can continue the job of leading KAFFA into the 2020s.
It’s been a year since we placed second in the annual @nordicroasterforum! Now the time is upon us again and we are fine tuning the profiles for this years competition! This is a great opportunity for us to learn more and improve our skills! Go team🙌
Visiting Pedro Padilla and Anacely Maldonado at 1847 mas, 1,5 hours drive from La Coipa. On this mountain top the family run 8 separate small farms, all organic. Pedro got his 4 hectares when he was 16 years old. When he was 18 he planted Caturra and Yellow Bourbons. Today he is 28 and have just build a small washing station with a drying house and fermentation tanks. He is a part of a coffee revolution in the area and the results are stunning. We look forward working with Pedro and his family the coming years.
