This is something i've given a ton of thought to recently.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

Why is it okay to spend years working for an hourly wage or salary and barely save up for retirement, but it's considered almost insane to work a MLM or start up and earn the same amount in 10 years versus 25+?โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
I'm choosing the option thats more fufiling! Thats pursing my dream as a start up MLM. MLM has so much negative connotations, but here's the truth. An MLM saved my life! Yes! It helped me discover my passion, my strength, and my courage to do something BIG!โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

An MLM helped me live a childhood dream. This MLM helped be beat anxiety!โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

Today it's a "recovery" day which means i'm starting my run training for a 5K in a few months. So i'm talking a little about commitment and goals. These are two things that go hand in hand. You really can't have one without the other and expect them to work.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
You need goals to set your direction. If it's a business related goal, certification, a item you want, or something you want to happen in your life. You can't achieve it without first knowing it.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
To get to the goal, you have to commit to making it happen. This involves doing the work and sticking to it. Be it getting up early, filing those papers, putting up that website, etc. The sooner you start and keep going the sooner you'll get there!โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

It's not easy, but believe me, it's worth it. The moment you live a dream because you committed to it is like no other.

This was one of my last years in the army. It was a freak snow in Louisiana!โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

I had fun here, making Alfie the snowdane, but my face tells a tale all on its own.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

I was battling my weight, I wasn't happy, I didn't really know myself. I had decided the military wasn't for me and I was just doing what I needed to do to finish out my contract. I was living in a shell of anxiety! Although I didn't know it was anxiety, I just thought it was my being painfully shy and anti-social. I was in a massive amount of pain and suffering, silently enduring it because there was a huge stigma and I was so scared to admit I needed any sort of help. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
So I silently endured, denying there was anything wrong, while I played games perpetually.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

Whats changed since then?โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

My community has helped me discover m inner strengths. The things I hid from myself under the negative self talk that lead to my problems. They helped me get to therapy. They helped me learn how to talk postivie to myself. They showed me how to overcome fears and limitations.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

If not for P90X and my fellow coaches, I wouldn't have learned what I was really capable of.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

Let me start of this thursday with a lesson I needed a long time ago. Learning to value my own opion first.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

As a kid and on into my 20's, I had been bullied, made fun of, and berated so much I honestly believed it. I was even telling myself my opinion didn't matter, that i'd never be heathy and fit, I didn't deserve love, I didn't need people to rely on, I didn't want people leaning on me...etc. All the things I really don't think anyone should ever be telling others, much less themselves.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
When you are at the point you're telling yourself this, and you believe it...you're probably where I was up until January of 2015. In search of a way out of what feels like a hopeless situation but not even sure there is anything that can help. A light, a loop hole, even a spark, anything to help light a way out of that darkness.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
There is hope. You have a light, but it's not a light some one else can shine. You have that light inside you. The minue you decide to value what you think, and just start taking action is the minute that light comes one. Sure, it may be dim at first, so dim you can't see it. But the more you keep going, the more action you take the brighter it will get. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

There is hope, i'm living proof. And I want to help you, like my coach helped me.

When I was first getting into the Army, the first thing they said was "Guess what?! You're going to Korea!".
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
As a 18 year old young adult who was bullied and demeaned for at least a decade. a raw recruit that had barely survived Basic and AIT... The idea of flying half way around the world scared the HELL outta me. I wasn't mentally ready to be so far away from my home turf, even if my home turf had painful memories.
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
Looking back, it was the best thing that could have happened to me at that point in life. It forced me to learn to adapt to new situations. I had to learn to think on my feet and do things differently. Heck, I had to learn to navigate a completely different culture.
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
Plus, if not for the trip, I couldn't have taken beautiful photos like this one at Namsan Tower! I discovered I actually could climb a mountain!
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
This would lay some of the ground work I still use today. To embrace challenges. To learn new things that challenge my thinking. To do things that scare me, like face anxiety.
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
If I can learn this skill, I know you can too.
You just need the courage to start.

Working out is my personal therapy!
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
What you may not know is years ago, I actually hated working out. I didn't want to get up and do PT. I didn't like doing a lot of pushups. Situps bored me to no end. I loathed running. I didn't enjoy being "tested" every 6 months on something I held no value in. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
Now, 8 years later...I can't imagine my day without some form of activity.
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
What made the difference? I found a purpose in it. I found something FUN! I was CHOOSING to do it. The trainers explain the reasons behind it, not simply saying "Just do it because the Army said so!" They explained the benfits.
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
That made the difference for me. Now, i'm living a dream I never thought I would. I stepped on stage three times, look a lot like greek statutes, and i'm comfy being a complete nerd! Nerds can be strong and smart at the same time.

I used to think that way. I used to think of Army PT when I was presented with the word. Pushups, Running, Yelling Drill Sergeants, Lots of cadence, none of it was fun to me.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
I avoided exercise for the better part of a year after I got out. I was already gaining weight and had nearly been kicked out of the army for being overweight and over fat. โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
Then I found out two things.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
Your workout should be FUN.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
Your workout should energize you!โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

The trick is passion and reason for your workout. For me it's to help inspire people to be healthy. To show people even us nerds and geeks can be athletic too.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

We are more than what we think. And we don't need gyms to do it. We just need ourselves and time. I can give you the same tools I used. But you've got to want to do it.

I'm not sure how the word "diet" somehow got associated with short terms crash nonsense. It's actually what we eat day to day. It's how we describe how species eat. We don't ever say "A lion went on a diet" do we? Why should we place ourselves in that pile.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

Truth is, we are meant to have healthy TASTY food. This pic is just one example. If you could learn to cook and eat healthy yummy food, wouldn't that be worth something to you? I'm offering to teach you. You just have to have an open mind and give it a chance.
