Regrann from @fash_rev_ausnz - Thinking about all the supporters that have backed Fashion Revolution over the past 4.5 years. From an idea in a bath tub to becoming the largest fashion movement in the world with volunteer Revolution teams in over 100 countries shows you that passion can power anything when the cause is is as vital and urgent as ours.
Thank you to everyone who asks #whomademyclothes, who demand transparency, who buy our Zines, download our guides, hold events, volunteer their time and spread the #fashionrevolution word.
And thanks to all those brands, designers and producers who respond and work hard to steer the ship of fashion in a kinder direction. Unravelling opaque supply chains isn’t easy, ensuring workers are paid living wages is not without its complications when the system is designed for anything but, sourcing more sustainable fabrics at scale takes longer than the current pace of trade allows for. We have seen SO much change since April 24 2013, the day Rana Plaza collapsed, yet the urgent calls for more are still as loud as ever. Holisitic, systemic change doesn’t happen overnight but with the force of millions of revolutionaries championing it, we’ve got more hope than we’ve ever had to achieve what we need to see for the workers making our clothes and the environment that makes it all possible. Kind fashion is where it’s at.
Sending gratitude to you all this New Years Eve. We look forward to the loudest ever Fashion Revolution Week in 2018, 5 years since we started asking #whomademyclothes? John Moore and @kellyslater of @outerknown on Sydney Harbour big thanks to @matthoggett - #regrann
