I’d like to introduce Line+Form’s new intern, Kristen! Kristen is a fellow art therapy student at Marian University and she will be graduating this December!! Kristen is an incredibly hard worker with a wonderful personality, and it is a joy to have her in the studio this semester.
The Witch of Irvington didn’t let us down this year! She gifted us with so many vials of poison, jars of bone dust, bat juice, snake venom, and more! The witches and wizards who joined me created some super fizzy, bubbling potions in their cauldrons. Hopefully no little brothers or sisters get turned into frogs
This morning I welcomed Ms. McDaniel’s class back for their second visit to the studio this semester. When Ms. McDaniel and I met initially to discuss their ongoing project and how Line+Form could play a role, I asked if it would be possible for the children to each receive a disposable camera to photograph the community through their eyes. Ms. McDaniel has not only helped in providing a camera for each student to take home, but she has also placed a Polaroid camera in their classroom for them to use both inside class and outside on the school grounds. Today they brought those polaroids in to share with me and created the most amazing visual stories! I’m so excited to see what else they do with these collages, and I cannot wait to see the photographs from their personal cameras next month. Thank you @butlerlabschool for your dedication to the Reggio Emilia philosophy, and for allowing children the freedom to explore their interests and tell their story in such a fascinating way. I’m so grateful to be a small part of this beautiful project.
Our little girl is currently OBSESSED with all things witches and witchcraft. Hocus Pocus and The Worst Witch have been played in our house more times than I’d like to admit over the past month. She has been begging me for a spell book so when I saw the amazing spell books made at @makemestudio I knew I had to create one for her. She’s going to flip when I pick her up from school! Thank you SO much for the brilliant idea, @makeartstudios If I turn into a frog, I’m blaming you
The new sensory table was such a hit this morning! Thank you to Mr. Line+Form, Adam, for building it for us! He does so much behind the scenes to support the studio and I just want to give him a public shout out for all of his help and support
Incredibly powerful work done by the residents of Fresh Start Recovery today. The focus of our group today was creating vision boards. All of the women were incredibly vulnerable and open with their process. A few of the phrases that inspired me were •addiction ends here •a healthy home so your kid can be a kid again •own the future• and •because you’re worth it. I feel honored to get to work with these amazing women each week. They continue to inspire me.
We have two amazing art classes coming up this weekend for your children to enjoy (one of which gives you an opportunity for a date night ). This Friday from 6-8pm we are partnering with @dogoodindy to bring you the REDI art workshop in support of Anti-Bullying Month. Children will be designing their own t-shirt or bag while you enjoy a night out on the town. On Saturday at 3pm our super fun Enchanted Potions Workshop is BACK! This all ages, sensory experience is one of my favorite of the year and I can’t wait to see what everyone brews in their cauldrons. All registration is online. Here’s a look at our potions event from last year!
