Q: Do you theme your reads around the season?
I see a lot of people do that, and I really dont. Haha. I saw a question for what books would you bring on summer vacation? Um. My current read and whatever Im hoping to read next! but its awesome if you do! No hate. I promise.
This prompt is #currentlyreading per #fangirlinginjune! Although, this is more #notcurrentlyreading. Under the Martial Empire, defiance is met with death. Those who do not vow their blood and bodies to the Emperor risk the execution of their loved ones and the destruction of all they hold dear.
It is in this brutal world, inspired by ancient Rome, that Laia lives with her grandparents and older brother. The family ekes out an existence in the Empire’s impoverished backstreets. They do not challenge the Empire. They’ve seen what happens to those who do.
But when Laia’s brother is arrested for treason, Laia is forced to make a decision. In exchange for help from rebels who promise to rescue her brother, she will risk her life to spy for them from within the Empire’s greatest military academy.
There, Laia meets Elias, the school’s finest soldier—and secretly, its most unwilling. Elias wants only to be free of the tyranny he’s being trained to enforce. He and Laia will soon realize that their destinies are intertwined—and that their choices will change the fate of the Empire itself.

Q: Who is your favorite main character of any book?
Aelin!!! Aelin, Aelin, Aelin!!! She's so witty and hilarious and I just love her. I want her to be my IRL BFF.
Q: What is a book you didn’t expect to like but did?
I can't think of one off the top of my head that I expected to not like. I always go in thinking I will like all the books I read! However, I did have a book recently that I didnt expect to like AS MUCH as I do! Carry On by Rainbow Rowell! I figured I would like it. But I really really loved it!!
Quick post! Busy at work today. :(
Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map—the key to a legendary treasure trove—seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship.
Q: Who is a character you just can't stand? (Doesn't have to be HP related.)
Umbridge is the only character I have ever really hated. Ive disliked plenty. But Umridge is on an entirely different level.
Q: Would you rather get locked in a bookstore or a library?
Either one is good with me. But I think a bookstore has a bigger selection, at least compared to my local library. Newer titles, cafe', extra goodies to play with. Who's down for a bookstore sleepover!?!
Where, two centuries ago, three sisters were sentenced to death for witchery. Stones were tied to their ankles and they were drowned in the deep waters surrounding the town.
Now, for a brief time each summer, the sisters return, stealing the bodies of three weak-hearted girls so that they may seek their revenge, luring boys into the harbor and pulling them under.
Like many locals, seventeen-year-old Penny Talbot has accepted the fate of the town. But this year, on the eve of the sisters’ return, a boy named Bo Carter arrives; unaware of the danger he has just stumbled into.
Mistrust and lies spread quickly through the salty, rain-soaked streets. The townspeople turn against one another. Penny and Bo suspect each other of hiding secrets. And death comes swiftly to those who cannot resist the call of the sisters.
Q: What's your favorite first line?
In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.
Q: What's your favorite quote?
Mine is always, "There's no use to going back to yesterday because I was a different person then." from AiW.
Good morning!! This prompt is #fanart per #jcfjune!
I dont know if you want to consider this fan art or not, but it gave me the excuse to show off this gorgeous print from @readandwonder_ !
