Im missing getting up close and personal with the sharks in Cuba along with the whole @sea_legacy team! The wildlife in Cuba was up there at the top of best dive spots and I will definitely need to make my way back there soon!

@paulnicklen returning to the surface after a deep canyon dive off the banks of Jardines de la Reina. It's always a good sign when you’re surfacing through a healthy population of silky sharks. From top to bottom, these are some of the richest waters in all of the Caribbean and a shining example of conservation. #turningthetide with @paulnicklen @cristinamittermeier @iankellett_story @samkretch @mdalio // Shot on @sonyalpha #A9 #alphacollective @roam

Im loving my new water terrarium to show off my little cactus! 🌵

Over the holidays I learned some stunt car driving so I could cruise into the New Year full throttle....

I had fun over the holidays taking a short trip to Vermont to enjoy this Winter Wonderland #djimavicpro #winterwonderland

It's crazy to think that a year ago I was on my way to Antarctica for a film expedition around Blue Planet 2. Here is a small excerpt from one of the short films I directed while over there..
. . Walk alongside expedition leader @martinenckell and BBC cameraman Ted Giffords as they traverse the frozen tundra of Antarctica to film seals in their natural habitat. Repost from @aluciaproductions

Still thinking about those sharky dives in Cuba. Makes me want to go back! . . Repost from @cristinamittermeier ・・・
I vaguely heard cameraman @Andy_Mann slip into the water behind me to film me as several Silky sharks emerged from the darkening waters and started circling around us. As the sun set on the horizon, the inky darkness clung to everything, making it harder to see underwater. The sharks were not interested in us as food, but they were undeniably curious. Over time, they have learned to associate small boats with fish scraps, as fishermen often toss the remains of their catch in the water. Around and around they went, sometimes bumping into us but never with any aggression. I can say that for both Andy and I, this was a life-changing experience and a highlight from our recent expedition to the majestic Gardens of the Queen.

I had a surreal experience diving alongside @paulnicklen and @andy_mann to get up close and personal with this large American crocodile in the Gardens of the Queen. I have swam with plenty of sharks over the years but getting in the water with a creature as magnificent as this crocodile was a highlight that will never be forgotten. #Repost @natgeo

Video: @andy_mann // @paulnicklen getting up close and personal with a large American Crocodile during a sunset thunderstorm in Gardens of the Queen, Cuba. Paul and I worked together to capture this unique perspective in the mangroves until well after dark. Pushing our creative boundaries through lighting, floating 30 pound cinema cameras at split level & choosing difficult working conditions all paid off in these unforgettable scenes. Team work makes the dream work, they say, and I'm lucky to be surrounded with passionate filmmakers and photographers @natgeo @sea_legacywho raise each other up and work tirelessly to create stories with impact. #Turningthetide with @cristinamittermeier, @paulnicklen @samkretch, @mdalio and @iankellett_story // Please #followme@andy_mann to see more from this amazing expedition, casting a light on the Caribbean's healthiest marine ecosystem.

It was an amazing experience getting to travel to Cuba for the first time and witnessing the Gardens of the Queen with @paulnicklen and the whole @sea_legacy team! The amount of life that can prosper on a reef with the right protection is mind blowing. I have dived in some amazing places around the world and this is right up there with Reefs in Raja Ampat and Micronesia which is surprising considering its in the Caribbean. I look forward to many more expeditions and partnerships with @paulnicklen and the whole @sea_legacy team, until next time!! . .
Video by @paulnicklen // The sharks and the big fish are the first animals to disappear when a reef ecosystem is under stress. We have just spent an incredibly uplifting week in Cuba’s Gardens Of The Queen National Marine Park, where sharks accompanied us on every dive. I was fascinated by how they followed us from the depth of the reef back to our boat. I never imagined that I would be so comfortable in the company of so many curious sharks. It was a carousel of grace and beauty and one I will never tire of witnessing. #followme on @paulnicklen to see my favorite moment with a shark from this dive. #turningthetide with @sea_legacy. It was so great being able to join the blue planet 2 premiere in London with the amazing team at the NHU. After 4 years of helping on a number of expeditions its great to see it all come together. I cant wait until everyone gets to watch this series and number of additional projects surrounding it over the next few months. Stay tuned for lots more content coming soon!

No better way to end the weekend with a home cooked meal and game of thrones!
