This cloche hat and gorgeous lace collar have been gifted to me by a work colleague. I was overwhelmed by her generosity, but she wanted to see them loved and used. I haven't seen a collar quite like this one and it certainly lifts a plain, long sleeved tee. The bag and brooch are both 1930s and two of my favourite accessories. .
It seems exactly the right day to wear this ensemble. Cardigan embroidered with little flowers, tweed skirt, accessorised with bunny brooch, chiffon scarf and pansy earrings. All 1960s and '50s. Cardigan from @hurdyburdyvintage
They say it's a womans prerogative to change her mind and Mother Nature is certainly doing that. Last Sunday I walked to work in a snow blizzard, yet just seven days later I'm basking in warm spring sunshine. But that's fine by me as I can wear a woollen scarf and a cotton tee. Today's outfit has been inspired by a gorgeous 1950s knitting pattern image. Swipe to take a look. My beautiful Miss Marple neck tie is by @misspitchypatchy.
The weather is spoiling us here in Newcastle today; mild with sunshine threatening to break through the cloud. So I'm risking a lighter weight coat but am sporting a cosy singlet beneath my shirt. Of course I must take gloves and a brolly...just in case. Well, it is England.

Today is so murky and misty it almost feels autumnal. Such a contrast to yesterday's spring like sunshine. So I'm dressing to the weather's dictate in a 1970s pure wool jacket, faux moleskin waistcoat, 1970s dagger collar shirt and 1970s pleated skirt. Accessories; Edwardian golfing boots, silk tie patterned with teeny white birds and a 1970s scarf decorated with art deco ladies. .
This humble little bag always brings a smile to my face. It is a lovingly hand made, time worn survivor, being at least sixty years old. But is still perfectly serviceable. And it has the most delicious warm red lining.
