Growing up as an avid lover of fashion, media, art and culture, I was always struck by the lack of faces that looked like mine in mainstream media and fashion magazines. The lack of representation made me wonder if somehow we weren’t considered important or beautiful; If perhaps we shouldn’t be proud of who we were and what we looked like.
I am so overjoyed to be a part of the generation that is doing the work to make sure that no little boy or girl of color ever has to feel less than proud of exactly who they are and what they look like. And I am so thankful for the opportunities to project into the mainstream a more accurate depiction of all of the beautiful shades that make up our world.
Huge thank you to everyone involved in the making of this campaign and everyone who understands how much of a positive impact our work can have.
