Morning Reflection | Photograph by Cezary Filew
In Yuanyang, China, the sunrise reflects off the waters of rice terraces. Since rice requires irrigation, growing it in a terrace formation helps prevent erosion and soil run-off.

Photo by @kevinfaingnaert // With its distinctive blue-and-white colour scheme, cobbled streets and jaw-dropping glimpses of azure waters, the cliff-top village of Sidi Bou Saïd is one of the prettiest spots in #Tunisia. Since the release of the song by French singer Patrick Bruel, the café Sidi Chabaane, changed its name to "Café des Délices", and became a famous place in Sidi Bou Saïd. The café, built on the side of the hill in the sixties, offers a beautiful point of view on the bay of Tunis and is a great place to have a coffee.⠀

Photo by @BrianSkerry | Three sperm whales socialize in the waters off of Dominica in the eastern Caribbean. The whale on the bottom is a calf is named Digit, and she became entangled in fishing gear in 2015. It was looking like a death sentence for the young whale, but surprisingly in 2018 Digit was completely
free! These whales have been studied for 15 years by Shane Gero, founder of the the Dominica Sperm Whale Project. In a story on the @natgeo website @craigwelch writes about Shane’s work with these animals, their families, and this special story. This population of whales is on a six percent annual decline due to anthropogenic stresses, such as entanglement in fishing gear and ship strikes. If they die off, we would lose a whale culture that possesses unique knowledge about its home waters.

Hello, world! Today’s #WeeklyFluff is Coco, a Congo African grey parrot who’s feeling particularly co-dependent after Valentine’s Day. “She will follow me all around,” says Coco’s human Jackie Persaud (@mss_jackie_j). “Once she loses [sight of] me, she will scream like a toddler and ask, ‘Where you? Where you? Where you?’”
Deep down, Coco just wants your undivided attention.

Pink Sand dunes // scroll through for a ode to these desert colors, really loving the color mix of pink, grey, blue and yellow 💞

We come full circle to where we began our Brazil adventure: Rio de Janeiro. .

The view is from atop Corcovado mountain, just below the 30m/98ft Art Deco statue of Cristo Redentor (“Christ the Redeemer”). We took the rack railway tram up 2200 feet, through the Tijuca Forest National Park for one of Rio’s best views. (Another is from Sugarloaf mountain, seen in the distance here.) .

Rio is the final stop of our @gadventures Wonders of Brazil Tour (full itinerary link in bio). This visit, we took a couple more days to fill up on Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, street art in Santa Teresa, a walking tour including Lapa and the downtown, more than a few visits to sushi bars, live music, nibbling and noshing on acai, gelato, selgados, and moqueca (fish stew), and a bit of caipirinha sampling. .

Sure, we know there’s more to Rio, but we ran out of time. What did we miss? Feel free to suggest…we’ll take it up on our next visit!
