Wbt know that donated clothes from staff, family and friends collected in their own custom clothing bin + our outreach service = practical, immediate and tangible social impact for those who are experiencing homelessness.
Yesterday we welcomed @urm_group as our newest clothing partner, and as far as synergy goes this is near perfect. 🇦🇺 buy an average of 27 kilograms of new clothing each year. 🇦🇺 are the world's second largest consumers of textiles. 🇦🇺 dumps more than 500,000 tonnes of textiles as waste in landfill.
URM is committed to protecting the environment and diverting more textiles from landfill.
Our Gosford outreach in Kibble Park just keeps on growing.
After adding last week’s numbers and passing the 5000 mark, it made me stop and reflect on the journey. What started with a visit from a long time mate to our Sydney service, led to discussion, phone calls, meetings, more phone calls, a service partnership, a site recce, collaboration, training and then finally a first service in July 2017.
We’re really proud of @mick.buettner and what he has been able to create and achieve with Pass it on Clothing & Co.on the coast.
While Sydney was built on an established homeless community site, Gosford had the challenge of educating people not only about a new service, but also drawing them to a location never before used.
Week on week he consistently turned up to offer our friends the opportunity to pick out some new clothes, with a handshake and a smile he engaged in conversation, building trust and loyalty.
Now when he arrives, it’s no longer an empty space, with him hopeful of helping someone if they wander past.
Supports Pass it on Clothing & Co. ✔️ We all know the three strikes policy right......damn that was close! It’s great to have @rikcreategrowshare and the team at @ethos_beathchapman linvolved, they had their custom clothing bin installed last Friday on @jerseydayau , a magnificent cause close to Rik’s heart that delivers amazing outcomes for organ recipients. We look forward to a long and sustained partnership for many years to come with the EBC team.
