The Ben Did Go 3.0 paddle from Catalina to Newport was the most physically grueling and mentally challenging thing I’ve ever done in my life. 30 miles of paddling over 8.5 hours with a head/side wind the entire way, but totally worth it! Here are a few pics from the day. - Huge thanks and congrats to @spencestagramin who founded and continues to organize the Ben Did Go event as we raised over $27,000 for the @bencarlson_foundation ! Those funds will be used for scholarships to three deserving lifeguards from around the country as well as to support lifeguard programs in third world countries. - It was an honor to paddle with such an amazing group of men and a badass woman @carly_nicole4 ! It’s an experience I’ll never forget. 🙌🏼 - 📷 @pacificcoastsurf Eric, you captured some amazing photos and video. I can’t wait to see your final stuff! Tomorrow morning I’ll be paddling 29 miles from Catalina Island to Newport Beach for the Ben 3.0 Memorial Paddle. We have 36 paddlers, 14 support boats, and 1 big goal of raising $25k! - This paddle is in memory of Ben Carlson, a friend and Newport Beach Lifeguard hero that gave his life to save another. We’re raising money for the his foundation, @bencarlson_foundation which supports lifeguard programs in poor countries and provides scholarships to deserving lifeguards around the country. - Follow me over the next two days to watch the prep work and grueling paddle across the channel. - Please donate through the link in my profile!
Proud to announce I’m officially a lululemon Brand Ambassador! It’s an honor to partner with a company that stands for so many of the same ideals that are important to me personally and to @the_board_club . lululemon is incredibly supportive to my personal development as well as the needs of my business. But even more impressive is the family culture created by all the genuine, inspiring, and creative people that are a part of this amazing team. - Btw, photo shoots are so awkward! I don’t understand how people enjoy getting their photos taken like this.🤷♂️😂 But huge thanks and respect to @arminrazmy for making me feel comfortable and for taking amazing photos. ✊🏼 - 📸 @arminrazmy
The Newport Beach Junior Lifeguard program is one of the biggest and best in the world, yet the program is run out of a cramped double-wide trailer with no running water or bathrooms. The program needs a real facility! - Every Summer, more than 1,300 kids from Newport and the surrounding area participate in ocean safety training that protects themselves and their families. This program helped to shape my life as a Junior Lifeguard for 5 years and a JG Instructor for 7 years. - Please help support the continued success of this program by: 1) Emailing the Newport Beach City Council in support of this project: citycouncil@NewportBeachca.gov 2) Attend and/or speak at the city council meeting TOMORROW Night 5pm in the council chambers.
