All the stuff I own! Only when you move do you realise what a blessing practising minimalism is! I moved out of my house today. I had 15 days to get packed up and leave... what I’m happy about is that in all those days, I spent less than 24 hours dealing with my “stuff”... I gave away my plants and a few other things I didn’t need... packed up everything else, barring the wardrobe (with some stuff inside).... three bags of stuff, I didn’t have to bother sending a parcel before I arrived.. everything came with me on the flight because it was less than 25 kilos! I spent every day in the last 15 days doing what is valuable for me... that included meeting my friends and family, doing a yoga course, studying, getting massages etc! Moving can be fun... I’m not believing anyone who says otherwise anymore!! #minimalism#minimalist#minimalliving#move#zerowaste#zerowasteliving#borrowedsuitcase#sustainability#sustainableliving#minimalwardrobe#repeat#plasticfree#wastefree#letsmove
The thing about composting your kitchen/ organic waste is that it’s never really a waste!! I’m in the process of packing up to move out of town and one of the things I had to do, was to clear out my compost bins. Since I had already given away most of my pots I knew I wouldn’t use it in anyway... so what would I do with the compost that I sieved? I could have ideally given it to someone else who probably needed it but since I dont have the time to do any more coordination, Here’s what I did... Put it near a tree in front of my house...! Simple. That’s the thing... even if someone doesn’t use the compost themselves, you can be sure that the compost will be of good use somewhere for some plant. And You will have the greatest satisfaction... of keeping waste away from landfills..! If you’re considering composting but are still doubtful, i would say, don’t be... go for it, you won’t regret it!! #compost#zerowaste#goingzerowaste#zerowasteliving#composting#earth#nature#organic#organicwaste#biodegradable#wastefree#plasticfree

And that's a wrap 2018! :) What an interesting year it has been for Project Shunya...! So many ups and downs, but the journey has been nothing short of fantastic! - full of learning, growth and so much fun!
For everything that Project Shunya was this year, we have only one person to thank, and that's YOU - our cheerleaders - you've encouraged us to share our lives with you and supported all our initiatives. We hope that we've been able to contribute and give back to all of you in some meaningful way too! I'm sharing a collage of the #stopsucking#tendercoconutchallenge for 2018! I'm pretty sure I've missed some photos (Sorry if I have!) Thanks to all of you who participated - I'm confident we will have many more people join this collage next year :) Happy New Year's eve folks! Have a great night!
Come December, there are so many parties, weddings, events that we invariably have to participate in..... Have you ever been pressured to "buy" new clothes because you feel you have nothing to wear and ofcourse, you can't repeat the clothes you wore last time?? Can you relate? I certainly have this pressure all the time! Even if I'm okay with repeating clothes, I've noticed that many times people around me say " you can't wear this... didn't you already wear it for that event, in that year?!" Ufff! And God forbid you've posted it on social media... gone case... Apparently you can never be seen with those clothes ever again... 🤦🤦🤦 I don't exactly know where we get this idea that we should never repeat and always wear different clothes for every major event... Maybe it's all the celebrities influencing us, maybe it is the advertising industry, maybe it's society in general... But we all succumb to this pressure (even men!) and somehow unknowingly pass it on to others as well... Honestly it's time to stop this mania! You can wear what you want, how many ever times you want and how ever you want to wear it! As long as you are comfortable and you feel good, don't bother about what anyone else says.... You do you! And guess what, It's great for the environment too because well, fast fashion... That's the most unsustainable thing ever! Huge Waste of resources and money!
We did it! We did it!! We did it you guys!!! 🤗😁❤️ Our first ever low waste wedding!! Can't even explain how exciting this was... congratulations Krithika and Srikanth... You've taken the blessings of Mother Earth by choosing not to trash her... What a wonderful way to start a new life together... Stay blessed!!! ❤️ *** From choosing reusable cutlery over disposable ones, cotton bags instead of plastic ones, minimal flower decoration to ensuring all the food waste was picked up by the Robinhood army to be distributed amongst the hungry, we did a lot of tiny things to ensure we produced very little to no waste. Loads of learnings as well as successes. Thanks to every individual who supported us to make this happen...!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I'll have all the details up very shortly!! Yay. Yay. Yay. Can't even deal with the excitement!! 😁😁😁😁 @umasreebalraj @dhiraj.jain1991 @girlwithgreenboots @rekharaog
