Rewilding Europe Central team members, coming from 8 European countries, met last week in Andújar, a Spanish municipality in the province of Jaén, in Andalusia. Except for extensive discussions and meetings, during fieldwork, we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the majestic Iberian lynx.
This February seven red deer were released in the Rhodope Mountains rewilding area in Bulgaria. This release, representing the last group of animals to be reintroduced within the framework of the LIFE Vultures project, means the area is now home to a well-established population of 50 free roaming red deer.
