Signs, signs, everywhere there's signs.
Signs......Growing up, I could look across the street and see a sign that had my name on it. Vellinga's Travel Service
Today, one of those signs is displayed proudly in my home office.
Thank you, Dad, for the service your dad, you and your brother, Herm, provided to thousands of people in Chatham and SW Ontario. Your work ethic, integrity, and customer service launched many successful trips, tours and vacations.
Signs....my childhood home was known simply as 245....no Queen Street required. The office (Vellinga's Travel) was 244. Names are more than a label. They hold meaning and experiences and reputations and legacy.
Thank you Dad, for the bright shine you have put on the Vellinga name. We hope to keep it shining wherever we go.
Long-haired freaky-people.....or so the song 'Signs' goes.
The third pic shows three Vellinga men, with some crazy hair and freakiness to them (don't we all). A good day in May, moving you into your new digs.
Thank you Dad, for providing for the family through many joys and challenges. The start on Queen St. and the stability of 94 Daleview launched the lives of all of us and the legacy that is now extending into the next generation. Good times ahead in your condo living with new heights, new sights and new signs.
In my morning reading today, this verse came up.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, - Colossians 3:23
Very apropos for Fathers Day, today. While my dad has never cited this verse to me, as an instruction or otherwise, he has lived it and I have learned it from him in each season of life.
Thanks Dad, and Happy Father's Day.
