Akwaaba is the new king of comfort food, and these siblings from Ghana are serving up serious African eats. Recently opened in College Town, this brother and sister duo are the most inviting and welcoming people I've ever met. The moment you walk in, your senses are enveloped with all of the amazing spices you're about to taste. For the timid, and unfamiliar, fear not. Mohammed’s huge smile will be there to greet you, guide you through the menu, and offer suggestions on where and how to start your journey into their cuisine. My first choice would be the Jollof Rice(Chicken) shown above. A super fragrant dish of Jasmine Rice in Tomato Sauce, topped with a Tomato and Onion Stew, and a side of House Salad. You haven't had Fried Chicken like this before! Show these guys some rocfoodies love, and support new ethnic eats in our city. They are at the OLD India House Express location, 1330 Mt Hope. They open at 1130am most days I believe, I went on a Saturday. Call ahead to double check. 585-434-0040. #rocfoodies#roceats#africanfood#africanfoods#ghana#africanfoodporn#africanfoodie#africanfoodyummy#rochesterny#thisisroc#roctopshots#iheartny#huffposttaste#foodgawker#explorerochester#friedchicken#jollofrice#stew
