“Your body exists in the past and your mind in the future. In yoga they come together in the present. Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.” -B.K.S. Iyengar #oneyoga@oneyogalions photo: @edouard.nguyen

There is a community of the spirit. Join it, and feel the delight of walking in the noisy street and being the noise. Drink all your passion, and be a disgrace. Close both eyes to see with the other eye. Rumi

“I’m the region of the navel dwells the lonely sun, whose essence is fire; located at the base of the palate is the eternal moon, whose essence is nectar. That which rains down from the downturned mouth of the moon is swallowed by the upturned mouth of the sun. The practice [of Viparita Karani] is to be performed as a means to obtaining the nectar [which would otherwise be lost]." - Goraksha Shataka 12th or 13th century Hatha Yoga text. “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” The naked truth according to yoga is that the soul is immortal. Still I miss Sam in her mortal frame. She taught me to be be a yes to life and experience, to be courageous and true to my self. To be graceful while going through hell. To keep smiling. To be a yogi. I miss the sparkle in her eyes. Sam, I miss you terribly. 💔⚡️🌊🦁🙏🏽🐬🦋💃✨💛 There will be a celebration of Sam’s life in April. On Sunday, March 31 @tandavayoga the Kelowna fam and I are holding a special class 7-9pm to honour our little bright-eyed warrior.
Headstand (Sirsasana) 🧞♂️🙏🏽🌂@emortimer@marypoppinsreturns Shortly before Swami Radha left India, her guru handed her a humdinger of an assignment: “He said, ‘Now I want you to discover the spiritual and mystical levels of the asanas and report back to me.’ She said, ‘Gurudev, I don’t even know what you’re talking about. You have to give me an example.’” And he gave her the example of the headstand, He said, ‘When you go into the headstand, it’s like you’re turning your world upside down. So what would happen if your world was turned upside down? You’re seeing the world in a completely different way. Also, from this perspective, you can’t go anywhere. You can’t walk away. So in this position, it’s like you’re making a commitment. And your feet, which are usually grounded in the earth, are now grounded in heaven.’” Swami Lalitananda
