I’ve struggled with receiving money over my lifetime. Limiting beliefs that I have to “work hard” to make a living have been engrained in my mind, the impact of my ancestors living through poverty, famine, colonialism, communism, corrupt government.
.
But work hard to what point? To the point of burnout? Exhaustion? Failed relationships? Suffering of my health? The demise of Mother Earth???
.
So many of us are caught in this rat race. The very small percentage of people (the 1%) benefit and profit off your “hard work” while the masses continue to slave away.
.
I am shifting. The world is shifting. We see that this is not healthy, sustainable, or desirable.
.
And thus the old systems are crumbling, because the people are reclaiming their sovereignty, their birth right to happiness, abundance and joy.
.
Are you willing and ready for this great transition? It takes healing of the heart to receive love. Because abundance is merely another form of love.
.
It is time for wealth distribution of money, health, freedom, joy. These are basic human rights.
.
For those who get it, msg me, join me in the shift. ✨

We are conditioned to think that the world is scarce. But just like Mother Earth, when we come into alignment, there is only abundance ✨
.
The key: being in alignment 🌈💕

Thank you @abundance.community.farm for having us play in the dirt 🌱

It is with a hopeful heart that I announce the completion of my marriage to the love of my life, Brent. ✨

We have celebrated 10 beautiful years together travelling, adventuring, home-making. Out of this we created a beautiful child that has forever expanded our capacity to love in such an epic way. 🙏🏾
.
This is not "THE END". Rather, it is the beginning of something even more beautiful. We are forever bonded as parents, life partners, family, and friends. Our vows still apply as we commit to being our best selves and a loving space for baby girl to grow up in. As a family we continue to be together, eat together, play together. 👨‍👩‍👧
.
Through these times, our love, respect, admiration, and support for each other only grows. I know this is not the story for many marriages that end. But if I am a stand for peace and love in the world, I must create peace and love within my family, and most importantly within myself. 🌱

Thank you Brent for being such an incredible man.
It is an honour to share this life with you. 🙏🏾
.
❤️ Your baby mama, Stephanie

Hello 👋. Did you know that I’m half East Indian 👳🏾‍♂️(half Indonesian)?
.
This is my dad in his younger days being blessed before leaving India 🇮🇳 for an unknown journey in Canada.
.
I’ve noticed that many places of healing and growth are still dominated by our white brothers and sisters. This is not an attack, but a gesture of love. Opening my world to yours so you can open more of your world to our coloured friends.
.
You see, my dad’s survival in Canada depended on him being as white as possible. Forgetting his culture. And becoming “Canadian”. (which is a whole other story in honouring our Indigenous people).
.
He changed his name from Jyotindra to Joe.
.
He never spoke our mother tongue to myself or my sisters or shared our rituals.
.
He worked at removing his then thick accent.
.
He did all this so he could get a corporate job, and work his way out of being a sorority boy house cleaner.
.
You see, my dad’s whiteness allowed us to have a good life, be accepted in schools, be part of the crowd.
.
But through this we’ve lost touch with our original ways.
.
I am thankful for the many white people I’ve met who often times know more than I do about Indian Vedic teachings, mantras, yoga, spirituality.
.
And it’s time for me to return to the motherland and remember my Cultural ways 🙏🏾
.
So if you feel like your skin colour has brought you privilege to be in transformative and uplifting spaces, I invite you to extend and extra welcome to our coloured brothers and sisters, so they too can have an opening to reclaim their power and presence.

What is the opposite of CONTROL?
.
.
.

The dictionary says it's 🔺WEAKNESS
🔺IMPOTENCE
🔺POWERLESSNESS

But we now are awakening to a deeper truth. Control is not the way to power. For it is born of fear.

True power is in
✨ SURRENDER
✨ EMPOWERMENT
✨ COLLABORATION
✨ FREEDOM
✨ EXPRESSION
This power is born of love. 💕

Those who resonate with this truth ARE the leaders who are rising as we transition from the old paradigm to the new: one that honours the symbiosis of mother nature, elevates all around them, is of compassionate servitude, brings community together through collaboration.

Is your organization, your schedule, every ounce of your personal being softening into the natural rhythms of life, the way we were meant to thrive not survive?

May we walk softly, speak kindly, and leave love notes in the earth. The time is now.

We are in a period of great transition. 🌈
.
Just like our parents, we honour that until now, we’ve done our best with what we knew. 🙏🏾
.
But now we have deepened our relationship with inner truth. One that reclaims the reverence and alignment to the symbiosis of humanity and the natural world. 🌿
.
The soles of our feet and the souls of our hearts have a deep knowing that we weren’t meant to walk on concrete, sit all day, interact with devices, play monopoly for a living, dispose of our wastes with no regard. 🌚
.
We were meant to walk the earth barefoot, have everything that we take be repaid with greater generosity than what we took, be stronger because we elevate each other, have the wind blow freely in our hair and the fire roar wild in our hearts. 💕
.
It is time to honour and put to rest the old ways. The systems that benefit the very few. The ways that create separation, fear, doubt, mediocrity. ⚔️
.
We can transition with grace. Come back to what brings us alive: contribution, connection, being of service, nurture, diversity, inclusion, integrity, abundance for all. This is the new ways our businesses, economic system, legal system, politics, homes, oceans and forests can flourish.
.
And so like an old dog, we put the old ways to rest. Send our blessings and birth the new world.
.
Let compassion and love rise like the sun ☀️, for a new day is upon us. 🙌🏾
.
Thank you @eleveneleventalent (formerly talentlab) for honouring me to share on stage about conscious leadership.

I’ve been fighting the systems. The hierarchy. The masculine. The gender gap.
.
All the ways that I felt hurt by masculine leadership, I realized was how I was being: controlling, dominating, righteousness, competitive, pushing hard, forcing outcomes. Even though those ways had hurt me so, it’s all I ever knew. ✨
.
Then I saw the opening. One of a wound I could heal. One that could be another way. A way of softening, compassion, slowing down, nurturing. This was the reclamation of my feminine. I thank motherhood for this lesson and the birth of @amothersmovement 😌
.
But there was still a missing. If I didn’t want to be a toxic masculine, then what were I to be? Through intention, I called in to witness a new kind of masculinity. And it started showing up. I saw a masculine that was noble, a protector of peace, integrity, courage, loving boundaries, boldly speaking truth. Witnessing this in others, powerfully allowed it to be embodied within me. 🙏🏾
.
The masculine and feminine live within all of us. When we call it into noble balance, we bring that into the world. And the world is asking for this.
.
I’ll be hosting a gathering for all people around the evolution of masculinity within us all. If this speaks to you, send me a msg 🙏🏾💕✨

I used to think that listening to Indian music was “hippie”. As a Canadian-born East Indian-South Asian, for me, the West had a stronger association with Indian music than India did. You go to a yoga class, Indian music. You go to a mediation Center, Indian music. You talk to people, they reply with “Namaste” but have probably never been to India.
.
I’m all for celebrating cultures and cross pollinating. But now it’s time for me to reclaim my own roots.
.
So today I confess... I started listening to Indian music. And I quite like it.

Feeling luscious like the sunshine ✨🌿
.
My baby girl is 2.5 and chatting up a storm: “Mom! I’m a masterpiece!!”
.
Yes you are baby girl. And so am I. Not so long ago I’d judge myself for saying such a thing. But today, I am connected to my luscious brilliance ✨
.
I hope you are too. Thanks baby girl for the teachings 🙏🏾

Today I woke up. And I saw bees everywhere. 🐝🐝🐝
Dead
Dozens of them
.
I cried
.
I’m crying
.
As I witnessed one in its last moments of life, another 🐝 landed on my shoulder and shared a message with me.
.
“We need you to be
Open
Awake
Feeling
Brave
.
There is hope
.
Just look to the sun ☀️
.
Hear the ocean 🌊
.
Follow the birds 🦅
.
Let the grief of us roll over
Like the breath of waves 🌊
Like the rustle of the wind 🌬
Like the peace in your heart ♥️
.
For it is not in vain
.
When we perish we leave love notes in the earth
.
And join our fleet in the stars ✨
.
Stand with us
Fly with us
Be with us
.
It is time to heal
And return home”
.

On the surface there is violence and everything looks horrible. But, simultaneously, something quiet, calm and hidden is happening and certain people are being called by a higher light. A quiet revolution is settling from the inside out. From bottom to top. It is a global operation. There are cells from this operation in every nation on the planet.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
You will not watch it on TV. Or read about us in newspapers. Or hear our words on radios. We do not seek glory. We arrive in several different shapes and sizes. We have costumes and different colors. Most work anonymously. In every culture in the world. In large and small cities, in the mountains and valleys. In the farms, villages, tribes and remote islands. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
We might cross paths on the streets. And not realize ... We follow in disguise. We are behind the scenes. And we do not care about who wins the gold of the result, and yes, that the work gets performed. During the day many are disguised in their normal jobs. We exchange looks of recognition and continue following our path. But at night behind the scenes, the real work begins.

Slowly we are building a new world. With the power of our hearts and minds. We follow with joy and passion. We're throwing soft bombs of love without anyone noticing; poems, hugs, songs, photos, movies, fond words, meditations and prayers, dances, social activism, websites, blogs, acts of kindness ... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
We express ourselves in a unique and personal way. With our talents and gifts. This is the force that moves our hearts. We know that this is the only way to accomplish transformation. We know that with the silence and humbleness we have the power of all oceans together.

Love will be the religion of the 21 century. Without educational prerequisites. It is born of the in intelligence of the heart. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Be the change you want to see in the world. The door is open. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

The original intent of Mother’s Day was a call to action. To end all wars so that mothers wouldn’t have to send their sons off to kill other sons. To return to the stand of a mother: peace, forgiveness, nurture, healing, love, togetherness.
.
Perhaps our wars are with our own mothers, with the gender pay gap, with the patriarchy, with the medical system, with Wall Street, with climate crisis, with the mental load, with loss, with ourselves.
.
Today I ask we put these wars to rest.
Be soft.
Return to love.
.
To all the mamas:
Mothers of children
Mothers of others
Mothers who’ve lost 🌈
Mothers of communities
Mothers of animals
Mothers who adopt, foster
Mothers who struggle to conceive
Step mothers
Single mothers
Trans mothers
Indigenous mothers
Caregivers
Children who mother

Don’t dim your light to accommodate someone else’s smallness. We are all born to shine big and bright. The Universe is expanding and you are part of the Universe, so expanding is part of your nature.
✨ If someone makes you want to retract, notice, and slowly back away; they are not for you and you are not for them. Better yet, find it within yourself to expand and shine your light anyway. Flowers don’t open and close according to who is walking by. They open and show their beauty regardless.
✨ If others don’t want to be around you, or you make them uncomfortable, it’s because you are shining light on the fact that they are dimming to fit in. By choosing to shine bright you may just inspire them to turn on their light too. Or not. Keep your light on anyway.
✨ All relationships are essentially an energetic agreement. The moment one person decides to start rising up and allowing their light to shine, it changes the energetic agreement and can create some waves. That’s completely normal.
✨ The relationships that are meant to last will adapt to the change in energy. Others won’t because they were likely born under the proviso of ‘I love you, as long as you don’t shine brighter than me.’ That’s OK, not all people are meant to be in your life forever. But the lessons they teach us can still live on. - words by @rebeccathoughts ✌🏽

Thank you @talentlabyvr for letting me shine my light ✨

“You will always be too much of something for someone: too big, too loud, too soft, too edgy. If you round out your edges, you lose your edge.⁣

Apologize for mistakes. Apologize for unintentionally hurting someone — profusely. But don’t apologize for being who you are.” ⁣- @daniellelaporte

Exactly my sentiments. Thank you for speaking the unspoken of so many humans paving a new future.

In a world that can feel jaded, judgemental, scary, and ruined, you are my beacon of light.

In your world there is infinite joy, laughter, hugs, treats, stickers, kittens, love, cuddles, and play.

I am your safe space. But really you are mine.

Heart full 💕🥰
This past weekend @amothersmovement hosted a Celebration of Mothers for #internationalwomensday @werklab
.
The big picture is becoming so clear. When I heal myself, when I return to love, when I thrive, my children thrive. When I interrupt the self-destructive habits, the heartache, the victim, the control, the survival and step into what brings my soul alive, I alter not only my future but the future of my family, my community, and my planet.
.
I recently did a profound Breathwork session with @bree_melanson . My intention was to “remove my money blocks so I can make more money”. What I got was the most poetic wisdom: “When you love yourself, the whales will return to the ocean 🌊 “.
.
Do what makes your soul come alive, be of service, let yourself flourish and all around you will flourish. That is what I’m doing everyday with @amothersmovement 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

COME HANG! I’ll be hosting a free @amothersmovement gathering at @mamamondays this Monday Feb 25th 1:30 pm at 📍@thejuicetruck (W 5th & Ontario, Vancouver).
.
Motherhood is all the Feels. It takes the deepest love, the greatest commitment, the most resilience, and a lot of letting go. I found motherhood to be really lonely. I went to mommy-baby classes hoping to connect with other moms, but with classes that mostly focus on baby, there wasn’t a safe space for mamas to share real talk and focus on themselves. This Monday we will be exploring the raw experiences, joys and challenges of motherhood that unite us in this wild and wonderful journey. Just like babies, us humans crave connection. Having a safe space to share your story is why Community is so powerfully healing and uplifting. Come ready for meaningful connection, conversation and JUICE 🥤
.
Bring your babe (or toddler!). Diapers, poops, bottles, boobies, meltdowns (baby or mommy) ALL THINGS WELCOME.

2019 goals: more nature with my boo’s
.
I’ve noticed that I can get swept up with the game plan, the busy, going from home to grandma’s to a coffee shop to the store. Going days without really being in nature.
.
But nature is self care. It resets the nervous system, it resonates at a frequency that activated healing, rest, and peace. (Yay science for proving what ancient cultures knew all along). Being in nature, slowing down, being happy IS IMPORTANT WORK.
.
I’ll be leading a number of workshops for mindful organizations and @amothersmovement on how to reset your nervous system from overwhelm, fight or flight to peace, rest / digest / reproduce.
.
If your organization wants some of that, send me a note. It would be an honour to be your guide ✨❤️

Thank you @talentlabyvr for inviting me to share my voice. I spoke to 300 people who have the ability to influence and impact how organizations show up in the world.

Today more than ever are organizations called to take an environmental stand, a humanitarian stand, and even a political stand. The pathway to a thriving planet first starts from within. When we heal ourselves, we heal the planet- empowered individuals then become an empowered collective.

Mothers are the first world of a child. And when mothers heal, they get to be the interruption of generational trauma, cutting the ties and restoring the lineage of love. That is why I created @amothersmovement

We have 12 years to drastically alter the trajectory of the greatest mass extinction the planet has ever experienced. Now is the time to rise up and step into your greatness. We are all in this together. And my oh my does your greatness shine brightly. ✨

2019: THE AGE OF LIGHT

“You’ve been training for this for lifetimes.

Mystics and sages throughout the ages have predicted this period in history, and you decided to incarnate in the middle of it. There is no mistake that you are supposed to be here at this time of great change. If you ever feel unprepared or daunted by the path that is calling you, know this: You’ve been training for this for lifetimes.

You’re way more than the days that have breathed through you in this life. You’re also all of the lifetimes that came before. All of these experiences have polished your soul into the most magnificent expression that is your authentic self.

Your soul has many facets. Imagine a fingerprint; your soul is a million times more intricate than that. If you put together all of the fingerprints of all of the people you have been, you would not even get close to fathoming how much of a unique masterpiece you are.

You came in with a clear soul plan. You came in with wisdom beyond your years. This is the part of you that longs to be seen. This is the part of you that is ready to step forward. That is ready to emerge. This is not the lifetime to stay hidden, but to step forth, be seen and rise.”

THANK YOU 2018 for expanding me. Ready to step into the light in 2019 with @amothersmovement
